failure?

:grrr: the first time i tried to get lucid i used WILD & MILD idk if it did work but it got darker and stuff, anyway i got scarred, but now i know its cool and stuff so i tried again and i would see the void and i would just wake up when i am getting lucid my mouth opens up is that even normal? and how long does it take to be in the state of dream as in when the void thingy happens how long does it take until your IN your dream

i also need tips on techniques on getting lucid

Well, WILD is difficult, specially when you’re starting out, as you might have heard. If you try WILD as soon as you go to bed at night it’s even harder. There are some variations for WILD…

But I have to admit that’s what I do to, WILD + MILD. I do MILD for a bit and then try to WILD. I do this at night or when I wake up in the morning (with or without WBTB). Although I haven’t had a successful WILD in a while…

Although if you haven’t tried WBTB (or if you have and haven’t had any success) I recommend you do. Whenever you have time to sleep, I mean, like on the weekends… It can be very effective.

I’ve found that using both techniques in one night can make it harder for either to work. Such as using MILD then fall asleep then try WILD later with a WBTB. You should try sticking to only one and find which method is better for you.

Once you start getting strong hynagogia, such as the vibrating sensation, then it can all happen very quickly, but it’s quite intense, so it’s easy to get to scared or excited and slip back. My best WILD, it took no more than ten seconds from when I got vibrations.

dang man 10 seconds. It takes me a long time from i get them.

I only managed it like that the once. I think it’s a matter of staying incredibly calm and concentrated.

o yeah happened to me i got nervouse and stopped

I’m in bed atm I just did some wild/mild and I went to the stage where I saw lights I got hot and numb it stopped. What is this? What do I do from here? How long more does it take to enter the dream at this point?

When you say lights, was it as if they were on the backs of your eyelids or was it something else? If it was on the back of your eyelids it sounds like one form of HI to me. I’m not so sure on the heat feeling, I’ve not felt that, but the numbness sounds like possibly the onset of SP. To move forward from here, I would try to stay relaxed and keep doing whatever you were doing to stay aware. I believe the time it takes to enter a dream from here will vary, it’s easy to get a little excited at this point and that can stop or slow you from entering a dream.

ill explain a little more,

i was doing some wild and then some mild and then i saw a white stripe flashing and then slowly felt lighter and then my whole screen wen, green, red and yellow i started burning and i snapped out of it

Sounds like someone has been at the computer a little too much recently.
But either way, I don’t know about the heat, as I’ve been having that myself, but that sounds like the kind of HI I get(in earlier stages) to me.
If you are having trouble with WILD/MILD, just hope for a regular DILD… I guess thats MILD then, but not really. Look for the “dream signs” and other things that are out of the normal, like getting into a fight that you normally wouldn’t (happened to me last night. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it… :ding: (I didn’t know they had a simley for that.) ). That worked for me a few times, I just got too excited.

  1. do you need dream signs/dream recalls to get lucid

2.what is 5his “old hag” people are talking about?

3.do LDs start in REM?

No, you don’t, but that is one technique, these are called DILDs, and are induced a few ways, like MILD.

It is something that happens in Sleep Paralysis, where a person observes the figure of an old woman sitting on top of them, or in their room. This is only observed in WILD, and there are few ways to get rid of it, like other nightmare characters. This doesn’t happen to everybody.

Of course. Dreams start in the REM state of sleep, and Lucid dreams are dreams, so yes, they do. It can take a while to get to this stage in WILD (I have yet to get there myself), so just don’t give up if that happens.

  1. when im near REM when im relaxed i have siliva in my mouth while my mouths open witch is un confertable, im afraid if i swallow i will mess up

  2. when relaxed w/ mouth open its harder to breath and it makes me lose conentration what do i do?

Make sure you are in a good relaxed position so you don’t disable your windpipe so much. If you feel the freedom to breath it’s easier. If I feel my eyes or my mouth slipping open I just gently close them, minimal movement as possible. I breath through my nose anyway. As for swallowing, just do it relaxed and recover from any loss of concentration.

But alas, I’ll get there myself eventually.

i almost always sleep with my mouth open
i guess it just helps concentrate on breathing more
