first (almost) lucid dream

Last night, I had my first LD (its the 3rd day today i start looking into LDs, I’m impressed with myself  ). What Basically happened was that I was in a long yellow hallway and I saw a overly-huge clock with only the hands on it, no ticks or numbers to tell time. I found it weird so i decided to do a RC and noticed i was in a dream. But just after I thought “Hey, I’m dreaming” Everything around me started to get black and i woke up after a couple of seconds…What happened there and is there a way to counter it?

Hi counter_terminator!

Congrats on your first LD! You can be impressed with yourself, you had it very quickly! :good:
First LD’s are often very short. They will last longer with experience. Next time you are in the “black void”, remember to rub your hands, it makes the background reappear!

thanks a lot, I will try this night…2 days…But I have to say I did spend these 2 days checking forus and finding information on the subject

so? i have too but still, no LD, but my DR’s improved so i’ll get back to you on that tomorrow:p

lol…maybe my subonscious remember things more easily

The same thing happened to me counter_terminator. I was having this dream where I was in a parking lot and people with guns came out of cars and started to point them at me. I started to run and wanted to fly away and this image of super-man came into my head and I realised I was dreaming. I said to myself, hey I’m dreaming. And almost instantly everyting around me started to slip away into nothingness and I woke up.

cool, did you have any other LD’s after that?

I didn’t. But I’m still working on Lucid dreaming. Hopefully I will have more. Wow lots of practice though.

Ok, then I wish you good luck!

Thanks, I wish you good luck too!

today was the first i heard of lucid dreaming so i read all about it and decided to give it a go this arvo in my room on the floor…

i began falling asleep and seeing a few unusual colours and then all of a sudden an image of my bedroom door opening appeared which kinda startled me in my semi-conscious state and things began to go back to normal and i was no longer asleep as much. Is this kind of behaviour common and how can I improve on this and have proper lucid dreams? i guess it takes practise

hello
I’m new here, but reading around the site i found out I had LD before 4-5 times. The last I remember in my dream i used so called “superman technique”/today i found it’s called so/and I felt able to fly around in my dream, jump on trees and touch the clauds. It was woooonderful feeling.

All my best wishes to everyone here

I had my first LD a few days ago .
I`ve been trying for 2-3 months

Hi markus1 and divine beauty! Welcome to the forum!

Markus1, what happened to you is common, it was an hypnagogic image. You must not let them disturb you and go deeper in this state. I can’t give you very good advices, cause I’m not a WILD pro. :shy:

Divine beauty, all my wishes to you too!

Congrats on your first lucid dream, Pettertombos! You were very patient. I hope you’ll have bunches of LD’s now! :content:

Thanks Basilius !

Its so nice having LD ! It was so fun feeling the nose RC tell me that Im dreaming !

thanks basilus west, ill keep trying.

i tried the WBTB technique last nite but didnt work, found it hard to get to sleep while the ‘‘you are dreaming’’ sound file was playing. ill keep at it
