First LD... a few questions

Ok, just had my first LD
I was dreaming normally, my alarm woke me up, and I was still too tired to get up. I’m sick at the moment too, all I wanted to do was go back to sleep. So I started doing the counting method… but I didn’t get very far, lost consciousness, and went straight back into sleep. except - I went straight into an LD. I looked around, and noted that everything was extremely clear, but there wasn’t much around me (looked like I was in a jungle). So I spun around, and a path appeared, with 2 people on it. I ran down the path, and told them both that they were characters in my dream. One of them was in a wheelchair, and I said ‘wow, you’re in a wheelchair’ to him. None of them said anything, though they both stopped moving and had funny looks on their faces. Then I ran down the path some more, and thought, ‘ok, I’ll make someone appear’. So I spun around, and there was a girl sitting on the grass. I walked over to her, and woke up.

I’ve only been trying to LD for about a week now, and haven’t been trying these last couple of days cause I’ve been sick.

questions:

  1. I don’t know what the actual ‘trigger’ for the LD was. I didn’t go into sleep consciously, though I was trying to, and I wasn’t telling myself that I would have an LD, though I was thinking about it as the last thing before I went to sleep (mainly because I was too tired to think about anything else). Was this MILD?

  2. I forgot to RC! I just somehow knew I was dreaming, and so I didn’t need to. Is this normal, or is it a sign that it wasn’t a true LD?

  3. No one actually said anything to me in my dream… once again, is this normal? I was kind of hoping I could have a conversation, heh.

  4. When I woke up it all just seemed like a normal dream, and now I’m not even sure that I was lucid… was I? is this normal?

  1. Maybe…but I think you had one because of so much concentration on lucid dreaming, such as reading about it.
  2. RCs don’t make a LD true or false. Thats normal. The RCs are good to just make sure. For instance…what if you thought you were dreaming and jumped out of your 2nd story window, and turns out you wern’t dreaming.
  3. I sometimes don’t have conversations, and when I do, they are very short and brief. So yes, thats normal.
  4. This is normal as well…sometimes I think that, but I know i was lucid because you remember saying, IM DREAMING!

Also…I think you should try the method that is in my Signature. I keep saying this to everybody, but it is VERY good for people starting out. WILD is something harder. You should start out slow and work your way up to WILD. It’s like trying to fly an airplane without going to the AirSchool [or whatever it’s called]

Hope this helped you!

Thanks  I’ll try the hand method!

I’m just annoyed because I forgot things that I told myself I would bring into the dream world… RCing, trying to fly, walking through things… I guess I was just too excited, hehe. It was an amazing experience all the same.

Thanks again.

Welldone snOrx!

Well, to remember things you have your self programmed to do once u have your ld takes time!
keep doing it and soon you wont forget your own program for lds when having one!

Good luck!

Jeff

snOrx…the hand method will make you achieve almost full lucidity, so you will bring things from RL. before you go to sleep, you make the intention to be lucid when you see your hands. It really helps when u see your hands with like 20 fingers on each. good luck! if it doesnt work the first time, keep trying!
