First lucid dream in years, but turned in to sleep paralysis

It was so frustrating, i simply all the sudden knew that i wasn’t really working, but dreaming, i got all worked up, ‘’ IM DREEEEAAAMING!!’’ i said over and over again in my mind but as soon as that i feel my blood rising and can no longer move in my dream, so i wake up and can’t move either, luckily i was turned to the wall, so if there was a old hag or something i wouldn’t have seen that b****, any way how can i make sure i don’t get stuck next time?

Moved from Lucid Adventures.

If you get too excited, you risk “breaking the dream” and collapsing the illusion, so you would find yourself, if not outright awake, in a state of transition between wake and sleep, where varying things can happen, and two of these are SP, and the old Hag. You’ve entered… the Twilight Zone.
A thing you can do next time is relaxing and focusing once you’ve discovered you’re dreaming. That way your dream will stay in place, and you will able to continue it while doing what you wanted
