First 'proper' LD!

Hi all… I hope this is the right sub-forum
Well, this morning I did some unintentional WBTB - first my alarm went off as I’d forgotten to turn it off last night, then a short while after I was awoken again by family members being noisy.
I didn’t even do any RC’s, I just realised partway through the dream what was going on (possibly when I was breathing underwater), the main difference from my previous LD’s being that instead of getting really excited, I accepted it and decided to experiment. Firstly, I noticed that my perspective was 3rd-person, i.e. I was looking at myself. Instead of swimming all the way back to the surface of the water, I turned around and ‘opened a door’ - I never actually saw the door, but knew it was there - onto the beach above me. At this point my perspective changed to first person again.
I had made some plans for what to do in my LD, and partially remembered them. I’d planned on summoning a DC, but actually just found an existing one and changed them into someone else. Next, I had a new idea - I wondered what I looked like in the underwear area in my subconscious, however nothing was changed. After this, my lucidity flickered on and off - I’d go along with the dream for a while, then think “Wait! This is a dream!”, then it would fade again. One time when I realised, I tried to convince my friend that he was just a figment of my imagination, but he didn’t believe me, so I gave up.
Well, it wasn’t terribly exciting, but it’s the next step in my quest for lucidity! This was the first time I’d taken any control over the dream.

That was a big progress, RichardJ! Congrats! Remember to look at your hands from time to time in order to make your lucidity last longer.
