firt LDs (failed RC question and othe stuff)

hi people

i had my first LDs recently and decided to share my experiances so far.
Since I have actually learned the term “lucid dream” a have had 3 LDs (they happened in the last 2 weeks or so and began trying a about month ago). There were 2 very vivid dreams i had in the past, that I consider LDs (although I wasn’t familiar with the term back then).
Now I am quite busy recently so I do not devote much time to LD(i might start doing it once my exams are over). What I do is to try to direct my thoughts to havig LD every night, read some threads or an article on LD4all before bedtime and I do RCs every now and then … apropos RC - a strange thing happend to me last night. Now trying to plunge a finger into the palm of your hand is an RC, right? Well I tried that when I was 100% sure I was in a dream and it didn’t work…meaning that I could touch myself and it felt very real … instead of helping, it actually made me uncertain … what’s with that?

here are some strange reoccuring (Lucid)dream situations :
-someone comes up to me and wants to beat me up. I am very scared and unable to defend myself but i say something nice and he just goes away.
-giant flying animals (once there were dragons and last night it was mutated insects)
what could those mean…

btw I real breakthrough i made in the LD last night is to stop thinking about sex, althoug a nice girl was involved in the dream  . i believe thinking about sex and getting excited was the reason for losing “lucidity” in my other recent LDs.
That’s all i can think about right now … (feedback welcomed)

Welcome to the forum toshiro. It’s not uncommon for RC’s to fail. If you know you are dreaming there is no real need to do them.

Dream interpretation is a very individual thing, best worked out by yourself as different things and symbols can mean different things to different people!

I actually disagree with this. Not only is amusing to play with them (try standing in front of a clock and blinking - the clock will keep on changing, or try moving your extra fingers etc) but they also help to keep you’re lucidity up by taking them everynow and then (and can even prevent you from losing lucidity).

Hey toshiro, welcome to the forum!

If you really need RC’s (if you already know it’s a dream it’s indeed not nececarry yet still fun), you should do 2 or more different RC’s to be sure you’re dreaming. This way if one fails the other(s) could still work out.

Last night I had a dream and it just felt weird. I realized I was dreaming without RCing, and told myself to wake up (there was a creepy person). Then I thought ‘no way!’ Without even doing a reality check I ran as fast as I could and jumped off a balcony :cool_laugh: If I know I’m dreaming, I don’t wanna waste time RCing. True, it is fun to play around with, but there are funner things to do now, aren’t there?
