For Smokers

Im an ex-smoker myself but this just occured to me so I thought Id ask you guys…

Do you crave Cigarettes in your LD’s? And does having one make you satisfied?

I used to smoke in my dreams and Ive only just stopped Dream smoking (lol) after about 5 months of being smoke free in RL. Not sure about LD’s though.

That’s an interesting question. I used to smoke, but when I quit, I never experienced cravings. I only had those when I did smoke. However, I did start to dream about smoking. I never thought about it in a LD though.
Smoking in a LD might give some satisfaction. The feeling can be reproduced, and dopamine will be released. But that doesn’t help with provoding nicotine for the physical addiction.

i’ve had dreams where i smoked a cigarette and it wasnt satisfying… although im a non-smoker in RL.

It’s the nicotine that gets you hooked, I head smoking isn’t actually the luxurious part… However this applies for food, as the taste is what matters, then in real life eat the healthy stuff.

thats an intterresing aproach …maybe soon some psychologysts will discover this as a way to treat habitual cravings (is that the word ? )

They say that smoking in a dream signifies that you’re shielding yourself from others. I’m a smoker IRL and I’ve never smoked in a dream. I’ve rolled cigarettes, but never smoked them.

I’ve never smoked in my dreams, nor have I really wanted to.

However there were 2 dreams I remember where I was experiencing nicotine withdrawal. I wasn’t lucid, but I had good dream recall for the two of them. I basically was overwhelmed with the short-temper and anxiety aspects of the nicotine withdrawals. I had never been so angry before I had these dreams. It doesn’t get that bad even when I don’t smoke in waking life.

It’s interesting that you say that, this happens to me quite often in ND’s, I’ll spend the whole time trying to roll cigarettes whilst doing whatever else I’m doing in the dream but I don’t remember ever actually getting to smoke them.

some guy told me that he was smoking in a dream( he had recently quit) and the dream cigarette satisfied his craving. So that got me thinking that there is probably a way to use smoking as an ILD if you were to try to stop or even if you didn’t.Then i got to thinking about learning to smoke and becoming addicted just to develop the ILD but then it occurred to me that I’m not so old that that wouldn’t make a difference in my health.
