I haven’t. Had a real LD In many years since they started becoming dark or bad.What I’ve been experiencing since trying years later is an ominous feeling like somethings wrong. I admit most of my dreams outside LD have been nightmarish and unpleasant. For anyone within hearing range. What can I do to help recognize the dream? I really need to be in control when I dream then I can refocus on positive insted of dwelling on the negitive in my dreams. Well, have there been any major changes in your life since they started becoming dark? Do you have any reoccurring nightmares? Anything consistent?

My dreams have been dark for as long as I could remember, but while Lucid were some of the worst. There were no changes I can account for that would have caused it (aside from the whole crappy childhood cleche but I doubt that has anything to do with it.) There are recurring themes that I’ve been picking up on, like living with people or being in a strange house. Most of the time regardless of the situation or setting there will be a huge hole in the building as if it had exploded. (Think unibomber like the pictures. Of the marines barricks) And I always am trying to escape the people in the house, sometimes my wife and daughter are there some times they are not or just disappear. I know some of this is common dream stuff but the same themes and situations played out in variations.seems odd to me. Thats just the most recent vivid dream theme that I know its not right but cant put my finger on it. Thank you very much for the reply, I hope I’ve answered your questions well enough.

OK, so one focus could be on trying to remember to reality check when you have that common dream theme. Tell yourself that the next time you see that building with the hole in it, you will remember that you are dreaming. That, and every time you go to bed, try to incubate lucidity. A good mantra to repeat is something like “in 5 hours I will remember to do a reality check,” or “in 5 hours I will remember that I am in a dream.” It’s kind of like reminding yourself to pay a bill or meet someone at a specific time. You don’t have to repeat it for all eternity, just enough to set the intention.

Sorry for the long delay, I’ve been trying to employ some of the techniques I’ve found here and especially the ones suggested. I am pretty happy to say I had a short but lucid dream last night! I dont remember the dream up till I realized. I was dreaming but everythinlg slowly faded to black and I woke up. I tryed to re enter the same dream but had a regular dream.
