Getting a friend ready for LDing..

A friend of mines seems like he would be enterested in LDing, so Im going to print some reading material out for him, and hope it takes. Wish me luck… You know how it is when your trying to talk to someone about LDing. I went through the whole… “Its nothing to be afraid of, and Im not a freak” speach.

Good luck, hope your friend catches an interest in Lding

I think you should motivate him by telling him about your experiences. My friend seemed interested, and he asks about it once in a while, but since I don’t have a lot of LDs and they didn’t last too long he seems discouraged.

I reckon focus on his interests. If he’s a philosopher, tell him about the possibility of aquiring new and inspiring experiences. If hes a sex addict, tell him about al the amazing dream sex he could have… etcetera etcetera.

I already told him about the sex. And also that he could play with any soccer player in the world. Those are the 2 things he wants, I think.

LOL! This speach would frighten me to death!

IMO, what you have mainly to say depends on your friends interests (dreams, psychology, psychanalysis, paranormal, meditation, yoga, tibetan buddhism, consciousness, creativity, self-development, etc.) If he’s not interested in this stuff, he probably won’t be interested in LD’ing and telling him anything about is useless.

Then the stronger argument is that a lot of people practice this, some of them willingly, some of them without knowing it. 1 person on 6 has had LD’s in their life and if you speak in a group, the first thing you have to do is asking if somebody never had such a dream where they realized they were dreaming, or they were floating in their bedroom. Generally, someone has had such a dream, then you can continue to speak about LD’ing. And as human act like sheep, they will do something only when they know a lot of people do.

Tell him about this forum… and ESPECIALLY this topic. Hearing people giving genuine advice on how to cinvince him that LDing is possible could be pretty convincing? Keep us posted on your progress, and remember to get him to post here if he joins
