if this should be part of another thread or something, feel free to move this or whatever.
but anyway.
i’ve known about lucid dreaming for a while but i’ve never had a lucid dream.
i’ve been attracted to WILD because it seemed to be the method that required the least work.
anyway.
so i closest i’ve got was the night i was on the forums and heard about sleep paralysis.
i went to bed and eventually felt a heavy feeling wash over me and my heart was beating insanely fast and i felt very frightened and stuff. but i still felt like if i wanted to move i could. i just didn’t want to screw it up.
i think i saw some colours behind my eyes but nothing cool.
then i gave up for a couple of months and i’ve been back at it for a couple weeks not getting anywhere.
i want to have an LD so bad!
well…
my question is basically…does anyone know of anything i should try?
i’m pretty desperate.
thanks
Like me as of the moment, you want it too bad. This is not good, so like me again, I suggest the following. Quit WILD, start intending on only remembering dreams before sleep, look forward to knowing what they are. Listening to induction CD/DVD’s while sleeping helps a lot, I have noticed going to bed with intention while listening to “Hemi-Sync” Lucid dreaming series, CD 4, and waking up remembering 3 dreams in one night. I have been dry for the past few days though, but my intentions were not set precisely on recalling dreams. Once you feel you are able to begin trying to lucid dream, go for it and tell yourself you will know you are in a dream. Thats not what I am here for though, I am here to tell you to start remembering your dreams, it feels great to do it too. xD A lot of funny things come out of remembering.
Let me tell you one of my 3 dreams I had the other night. I haven’t watched the Golden Girls since I was 10 my guess. However I recently saw her on “Malcom in the middle”. Anyways, I had a short dream of playing Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii in my house. So I wanted Betty White to play with my brother, so I could watch. O_O LOL! So on, but she was using a real guitar, electric guitar that is. This means real strings, she was playing bad ass too. My brother was over playing in front of the table with the toy guitar that comes with it of course. Betty was jammin’ away with the electric guitar. Yes for some reason I was aware that she was Betty White, but never realized that I was dreaming. All I know was I was so happy that she was playing guitar in my house. xD Wow, right? This was the one thing that made me smile all day, so funny. lol
Make recalling dreams fun, don’t be pissed when you can’t remember anything. This solves nothing, just chill and intend.

where can i get them?
are they free to download anywhere?
is it the kind of thing you put on your iPod then listen to as you drift off?
Thats what I do is listen till I drift asleep, it lasts 8 hours. I usually end up waking up a bit early when I listen to those, one time I slept 7 hours only, another only 4 hours.
As for free, there are a few MP3s people around LD4All have made. Where they are, I don’t know. The MP3s basically have built in parts where a voice says “You are dreaming” while your in your dream state.
I am a poor LD-er too, but I use the following technique (If you can call it a tecnique XP): I keep a dream journal, do RC-s constantly in the real life. Eventually you will do a RC in a dream too
It may take a good amount of time, but you will get an LD sooner or later.
Doing RC-s IRL require almost no amount of work too
I’m still practicing this, but I had an LD after a week of doing RC-s in the real life.
In my opinion MILD and other autosuggestion techniques work the easiest and the fastest especially combined with hourly reality checks. WILD, for me, is the hardest and makes me very frusterated. When I first heard about lucid dreaming I worked my ass off with hard-core research and non-stop RCing and MILDing. So what I would do is make a plan and schedule of reality checks and say your MILD montra about fifty to one hundred ( i know it sounds like alot… because it is…) and you will have an LD very soon. However this will be different for everyone.
The Luciddator
I have had lucid dreams before, but at the time I didn’t know what it was. I have never been able to intentionally have a LD, but I really hope it will happen soon.
Lucid Dreaming is seriously not that hard. The trick is to really want it and prove to yourself how much you want one by working really hard to get want. You have to stay motivated even if you don’t frequently get lucid dreams.
Good Luck,
The Luciddator
Agree with you. I haven’t had any lucid dreams since maybe 4 years ago, still I am just enjoying my ND until my hard work pays off. Never give up if you really want it, this is one thing you wont want to lose out on!
At least before throwing in the towel, give all the different techniques a 1 month try. There are several to try too.
VILD
CILD
MILD
WILD (hate this one)
HILD
DILD
Maybe some others, but I am too lazy to look them up, I got most of them I am sure.
Good luck though guys, I can feel my LD coming soon.
well… if you can call it that.
it was 3 seconds long.
haha.
i didn’t even get to doing anything.
i just realized i was in a dream.
and that still counts for me.
and no one can take that away from me.
lol.
i was walking to school (not in my uniform) (and also no where near my school)
and i realized i wasn’t in uniform and started to walk home.
then i saw my ipod on the road and thought it was funny there were not any cars and that my ipod was just randomly on the ground and that’s when i realized i was dreaming.
then i was so happy and excited after the long wait and patience that my heart rate rose and i woke up.
feeling amazing but pissed i didn’t get to do anything.
so yeah.
i don’t knwo if anyone really cares.
but just thought it would be good to close the topic.
Hey, Congratulations on the LD!
Of course it counts, even if it’s 1 second
And don’t worry, it’s very common to wake up on the first LD, I mean it’s so exciting! I still wake up in my LDs (I’ve had about 13…) because I get excited… It’s just something we have to work at and get control over our emotions…
So, anyway, now that you’ve had a LD, you KNOW you can have one. You have proven it to yourself. So maybe now it will be easier to have more…
good luck!
WILD takes more effort than MILD. All you gotta do is say I am going to have a lucid dream, and then get lucky. Sorta. But you want to LD too much. You kinda have to let it come to you. But if you don’t have DJ already, then I strongly suggest that. I think if you can remember your dreams, it motivates you even more to LD.
Edit
O, I didn’t see the second page.
CONGRATZ on your LD.
Maybe my info will help, but keep doing what you were doing when you had an LD.
1.Congratulations on your 1st LD! see it’s not that hard as others stated.
2. Curious that your first LD moment is similar to scene in Waking Life where the boy
sees a note on the street. (your case-an ipod)
3.Your 1st LD was a DILD, same as mine and think this is the standard.
4. My 2 cents on LD tips is that being in a position where you feel a bit uncomfortable such as sleeping on back,no temperature devices such as a fan or AC
would help a lot and also WBTB and/or/with MILD…Ah!!! and a DJ(Dream Journal).
5. Keep it up, i had my first ld in few years or if it wasn’t one, at least something very close to a ld, all that time desperately to have lds back. try not to rush things.
