Because of the high odds of success, I’d want to try WBTB, getting up at 4 o’ clock in the morning and spending half an hour performing reality tests, writing down my dream(s), and visualizing being back in my dreams and becoming lucid in them.
The problem, however, is my lack of noradrenaline to get up. I could easily solve this by putting my GSM (which is also my alarm clock) somewhere from my bed, so that I’d be forced to get up to stop its beeping, but there’s a problem with this: to recall my dream(s), it should be the first thing I should think of, and it’s best to keep still as I recollect them. That’s what I do now - I keep still, and after a few seconds I’m asleep again.
This has also posed a serious setback in keeping my dream report, and therefore in developing excellent dream recall, according to Steve LeBerge a prerequisite of LDs.
I’d really want to have a lucid dream. I’ve been trying it now and then for years, though I’ve only read Steve’s course a month or so ago. Fantasy is all that ever really made me feel better, so I think LDs would be a perfect therapy for me. I’ve been trying VILD, WILD and MILD countless times, but it’s never worked.
My DR is messed up, and I find noway on healing it and on the same trying WTBT.
When I put my alarm near my bed, I kinda get up to the ringing and shut it down and go back to bed. I don’t have time to think anything.
If I put it to the other side of the room, I get up and run to the phone and shut it down. Then I go back to sleep. I don’t even think about doing RCs or thinking about my dreams. I never really remember them when I wake up to my GSM.
A thing I’m attempting now, is to Auto Suggest yourself to wake up at for example 4AM, or after a dream and recall that dream. (MILD method)
This has worked for me once. I woke up just after a REM cycle and felt extermly woken up. It was about 6AM, 1 and a half hours to my actual waking time.
You could try out that too. It requires much motivation though, and don’t get depressed if it doesn’t work. It didn’t work for me on the yesterday night, but I’m still giving it a go!
Thanks for the reply, that’s a helpful hint. I have little experience with autosuggestion, but I suppose I should just firmly “set my mind” to waking up before I go to bed… but then I can’t set my mind to LDing.
Well yeah, but maybe if you first do it like four to five nights and wake up succesfully, it will memorize in your subconcious mind, and you can focus more on LDing while your sub still remember to wake up.
