Had my first long lucid dream

I have had a few lucid dreams before. The first one was completely by accident, my Mum actually told me in my dream that I was dreaming and I became lucid, but was quickly woken up by a sound IRL. I started doing MILD every night after that and I guess it worked a few times. I became lucid but not for very long, I would either wake up, or lose control and it turned into a normal dream.

However, last night I became lucid and I did two things I haven’t done before. First I did a reality check, I pinched my nose and I could breath through it, which was good. Then I did the spinning technique to try and prolong it and I guess it worked.

The problem I seem to have is I can’t control my dreams as well as I would like. I can fly really well, I used to have lots of normal dreams where I was flying so I know how to fly and it is really fun. In fact, last night I made a classic joke, I was at a dinner table and flew across it and said “sorry, I know it’s rude to fly across the table”.

Anyway, I have not been able to walk through walls, I have tried but the wall is solid, I can’t get through it even though for some reason I know I should be able to. I can’t summon people or objects either and last night I even lost my ability to fly for a little while but I got it back by trying a bit harder.

So any tips for doing more stuff in dreams like walking through walls and summoning people? Do I need to be more lucid?

Also, I remember saying in my dream to people last night that it is a shame that it’s only my dream and you guys can’t share this with me. It would be great if you could go into a lucid dream with someone else… like the matrix.

Supposedly you can have a dream with another real person. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be “paranormal” or if it’s been technically proven, but I’ve heard about it. Can’t really help you with the other stuff though, I’m still TRYING to do WILD… It’s hard. lol.

I don’t have much experience with summoning people in my dreams. I just keep an eye out in crowds of people for someone I know and if random chance our paths cross then so be it  I think the crowd of people is helpful…

As for walking through walls; (lucid or not I apply the same techniques). Solid walls always seem to be the most difficult for me. I usually look for a window. Windows are usually a quick jump leap through. (I make sure there is something loaded on the other side, like outdoors, or else I just fall out of the scene and wake up) If there is no window then I usually walk towards the wall and right before I make contact I turn my back to it and kinda fall \ float backwards through it. Kind of a weird sensation.

This also works well for fences, gates, etc. when I can’t find the entrance or exit(which I find are the easiest to pass through; [possibly because there is less material to contact]. Also, passing through walls usually takes alot out of me, so I don’t recommend multiple attempts right after eachother. I’ve done that and it pretty much woke me up.

Guess it takes alot of energy to disassemble ones body into particles small enough to squeeze through a semi-porous material.

hopes this helps, gl

It would seem that the part of your brain processing logic is still working well, making you believe on a subconcious level that the wall you see is real and therefore impassable. I had similar problems when I had my one clear lucid dream. Apart from floating and flying, everything was as it is in real life, even my location to start with. It was so real that the reality checks I did failed (as in, blocking my nose seemingly stopped me breathing) and I was led to reconsider jumping from my second floor window, because I thought it would be bloody stupid of me if it wasn’t actually a dream and I jumped to my death (I went to the floor below and successfully flew from a safe height).

I think you probably need to reason with yourself that it is perfectly possible, for some time before trying to go through, to pursuade you brains logic.
