haha finally i gain lucidity!

hello, i don’t usually participate in discussions but I read a lot of posts and it made me realize that this is something that I can do.

So I’ve been half-assed MILDing and WILDing everynight, one time I was sure I was hearing/seeing hypnagogic sensations and was almost in a dream but then I snapped out of it.

So anyway last night I went to the bar and saw a ton of my old friends from elementary school and got loaded with them and had a great time.
(Side note: a lot of my dreams involve my peers from elementary school)

So I goto bed last night pretty drunk, but like everynight I concentrate on one thing trying to get as focussed as I can but I fell asleep once the “spins” wore off.

I’m dreaming about driving a car on the highway and my brother was driving beside me. It felt really weird tho, like i was lying on a beach lounge chair with my arms behind my head, but still driving really fast and cutting people off like a jerk. So then I see a big car crash in the distance and 4-5 cars go flying over the edge of a cliff. At this point I’m thinking “Wow this is some serious @#!%!” and I kept that frame of mind until I convinced myself it was a dream.

Then when I first tested whether or not it was a dream, I looked at my hands, and they were kinda fat and looked weird and bam! Huge adrenaline rush and I knew I was dreaming.

First thing I did was try to throw a huge rock at someguy (looked like the bad guy from Sonic the Hedgehog). It was awesome, I felt the weight of the rocks I created in my own hand and then I just obliterated this guy with a barrage of rocks. Then I turned around and noticed a lot of people/things coming towards me so I was picking them off with certain attacks. Then I tried a kamehameha wave on one guy but nothing happened, I was severely dissappointed so i pointed my finger at him like a gun and capped his ass.

That’s when I thought to myself “I wonder if I have to concentrate on not waking up, or am I too caught up in the dream I let it slip away?” Then I was awake, thinking I should have yelled Kamehameha to do the wave, because you can’t do a kamehameha wave without yelling it!
(Dragonball Z for those who don’t know)

Funny thing is once I woke up, I looked at my hands and did some reality checks, and decided I was definitely awake, even though later when I actually woke up, I knew it was a false awakening! BLAST! haha

anyway just wanted to thank everyone in here who posts/discusses dreams because it helped me and now I can’t wait to get back and have lucidity for longer than 20 seconds!

Congratulations on your first lucid dream, Baumer! :hurray:
It was a great dream and you’ve had a lot of control though it was your first try! I hope you’ll have much more LD’s. Remember to look from time to time at your hands in order to prolonge your dream, and don’t forget to yell Kamehameha! when you want to send a chi-ball!

man thats my ultimate dream in an LD. the kamehameha wave. i cant wait till i have another one. ive had a dry spell for about 2 -3 months now but im gettin back into it now

Well done .

It’s a good idea to have more than one RC (I find three works well). Take all three of them each time. So if one fails (like it did for you during the FA) then you have two back ups .

I guess I’ve never really done an RC right when I wake up, that’s probably the best RC you could do, eh?

Thanks for the advice, letting a dream slip away is so aggravating. I’ll have to remember to look at my hands every 10 seconds or so.

congragulations on the ld!! I have never had a lucid dream before but i hope to in the future. Wow kamehameha wave sounds kool to do in a dream, must make you feel very powerful. Also anyone here have a guess about how long it takes people to have their first lucid dream?

Roughly between 1 hour and 1 decennium… For me it toke me even less since I got to it naturally, but on average i’d say with good intent you should be able to within 2 months max.

The average time seems to be 2 or 3 weeks. Some people have had their first LD in the first week. It depends on how you believe in the method you’ve choosen, what method you’ve choosen and if it’s suited to you.
