This was my first LD of any kind. It happened about 10 years ago.
I found myself laying in bed, the only thing that I could move was my eyes. I was able to look around the room… the room was completely foreign to me, and very dark. I could feel (or thought I could feel) a presence in the room with me. There was a shelf near the top of the one wall, and I think there were jars of … things on the shelf. I am not sure if that is what I saw on the shelf or not, after 10 years… I may be remembering it wrong.
Anyway, I knew I was dreaming, but it was so real! I was freaked out because I couldn’t move. I became extremely scared, and I knew I needed to wake up. I started to yell for my wife to wake me up, I just kept saying “T, wake me up!” and she heard me, and shook me awake.
I was looking at the foreign wall with the shelf when I woke up, and the wall became the wall in my room.
I had to stay up for awhile, because I was pretty freaked out.
It sounds like either a sleep paralysis, or night terror like I used to get. Those are common (I guess) in a lot of people. I took up lucid dreaming to conqur my night terrors, and low and behold its working just fine
If you look around you will find alot of ppl in the forum have posted something similar if not the same as you have posted…
myself included…there is alot of very good info on this
About four years ago my room got moved to my parents basement. And for some reason a lot of times there was always a light on behind my room and I never cared to turn it off because I fell asleep just fine. I had thought that if someone was coming to my room I would be able to see their shadow before they got there. Like if my parents. I’m not going to comment on why I wanted to know if anyone was coming.
One night I went to sleep pretty late. At about 2:00 A.M. I would guess. I immediatly when into a dream of my room. So it was like an immediate false awakening and I heard these boots hitting the stairs on their way down and after a few moments I realized there was no way that this could be my parents because they were both asleep and even if they were coming there is no reason they would be wearing boots.
I began to get terrified and I tried to get up in my bed to grab my baseball bat. I couldn’t move though. I was literally stuck to the bed. I tried very hard to get up.
Then I heard the boots starting to hit the cement floor of my basement and I looked up at the wall and a shadow of a man was on the wall and I got so scared I was woken up.
It was so real that I got up and looked around the basement before going back to bed. I hated the feeling.
