Have you ever been told 'No'?

Had an interesting LD last night - one of my goals was to ask to experience enlightenment… a big one i know!

Anyway, after messing around for a bit i asked just that. I sat on a bench and said ‘can i please experience what its like to be enlightened’ and a male voice behind me said ‘no’.

I was surprised to say the least (and started to try and argue my case - but he just said no again!).

Has anyone got any theories/or has this happened to you?

Have you ever been told ‘no’ whilst lucid? :eh:

It wasn’t my experience… but White Squirrel’s. She asked an owl (or a bird?) can’t remember the details now… what they represented in her dreams. The bird told her that she is not supposed to know!

So… it does happen.

 Oh yes! Although it was very annoying, it was a very funny dream. I asked 3 different birds what they represented. One walked away, the second one turned into a different bird and the third one told me: “you are not supposed to know.” I have managed to ask an owl the same question, but it just didn’t answer me… :bored:

How rude of them! lol

Did you try and argue with them? The idea makes me laugh… arguing with characters in your dream! Obviously it didn’t work for me very well - and i couldn’t see anyone… it was just a voice! :bored:

No, I didn’t. It did not even come up in my mind to argue. I just took it very serious! I hope I remember to do that next time I find myself in a situation like this. Besides, there is not much to argue if an animal simply doesn’t answer!

Of course they are able to say no.
Otherwise, they would be robots…and it wouldn’t be fun.

Oh i never thought that DCs were robots. My slant on lucid dreaming is quite a spiritual one… but i am open to all ideas! I just wondered how common the experience was and what people’s take/interpretation of it was :wiske:

Yes! My very first lucid dream, I decided to use it to speak directly to my SC, and the resulting personification merely told me that I haven’t actually forgotten any languages that I learned while living abroad, and, with a lopsided smile and a half-squint and a headshake: “You’re not ready to hear the rest.”

I would rather he’d told me something seemingly cryptic or outrageous-- something that I would only understand after the experience that I needed, to be ready for the message, had been experienced-- than to just say “Not yet.”

I dont know. What I notice about my dreams is though, is that my dream characters seem to be saying what I have been thinking about/ what other people have been saying to me a lot. Could be the case here.

Thats a good point Rubiks_cube_man… i wonder how much it has to do with expectation… although, in my case that wasn’t something that had consciously crossed my mind :eh:

I think it’s just your sub conscious saying that it doesn’t know what enlightenment is.

I was gonna try drugs but my friend said “no”
