No, you probably understand it, it’s just it becomes so much easier if you’re already tired. And I believe it also has something to do with immediately going into a REM session when you fall asleep or something of the sort.
Actually that is Misunderstanding the concept. And Astrogeek, don’t worry, I’m sure everyone who’s tried WILD has also tried it when first going to bed.
Yeah, I have such problems too. If you need to fall asleep that very second then I suggest the SDR technique (stop, drop and roll). The best technique for me. I’ve tried it for about a week, and yet the last night was the only one where this tehnique worked !! I fell asleep easily.
If you want SDR to work at best and thus give maximal good results in falling asleep, I strongly recommand to do some sport during that day. Just go jogging (like I do ) OR simply play some football/soccer/tennis/basketball etc. Do that in the morning for maximal results. Never do sport before going to bed. At bedtime, to the SDR and it should reward you with a good strong and full of LD’s sleep.
Now, side effects can variate from person to person, as this technique is “case sensitive” for some people. It could cause some SP feelings and such things. You don’t have to worry about those things too much. If you do SDR correctly, there should be no prolbme of falling asleep again.
SDR (stop, drop and roll technique) is mostly used in cases where you can’t fall asleep, or suffer of insomnia. Here is the 10 minutes long video about the amazing SDR. I suggest you should watch it if you are new to SDR:
