Help i'm new to LD

Hello

My friend has been telling me about lucid dreaming for a while now and last night I had my first sort of experience. I was in a garden (a little like my own) and my friend that had been telling me about ld was with me but because he had been talking so much about LD I seemed to know I was in a dream. I said to my friend “this isn’t real is it?" He didn’t say anything. I then tried to control the dream but to be honest can’t really remember what happened next. I also had another dream that night which involved me being at a swimming pool. I had been swimming for a while and decided to get out for some reason. When I re-entered the pool I felt the water and it was cold. This is the first time I have felt a temperature that I can remember in a dream and also the first time I can remember knowing I was in a dream. Can someone tell me if this was a lucid dream? Also has anyone got any advice where I can go from this to improve my (lucid) dreams?

Many thanks

Yes it probably most deffinetnly was a lucid dream since you knew you where dreaming. and you can get more help on LDing on the www.ld4all.com main page READ EVERYTHING.

If you knew you were dreaming while in a dream then you were lucid, you don’t have to control anything. I haven’t yet.

Hi Kingbartlett! Welcome to the forum!

One of the best ways to lengthen your lucid dreams is to stare at your hands from time to time. And performing reality checks in LD’s can increase your lucidity level.

Congrats on your lucid dream and good luck!

Welcome !

Congrats on the LD

If you notice that the dream starts to fade away, try rubbing your hands and focus on the sensations. This is a good technique to stabilize the dream again.
Also, in order to stay lucid, you can from time to time repeat to yourself that it’s all a dream. Don’t just say it, but understand what it actually means.
Control can be pretty hard in the beginning, but have patience… if you gather more experience, it will get easier

Good luck!
