Help needed with WILD

Ive been trying to see a LD for about 2 months now . With no sucess . IM practising WILD method . I go to bed , close my eyes relax and force myself to sleep like I normally do . But at the same time I count " One - Im LDing , Two - Im LDing … " and try to keep myself awake enough to count but as less as its needed to let your body fall asleep . Every night I repeat myself that Im seeing a LD , remember to make a RC in my dreams and Im going to remember my drea in the morning . Ive started to see much more NDs and usually I wake up after one ends and other starts altough I have never thought It could be so .
Ive tried to LD every night since I first heard about it but now things have gone pretty bad . Trying to LD has totally messed up my sleeping - cicle . I do start to see HI after some time and usually when they get very detailed I start to see kind of movies in my head while Im still counting numbers but as soon as I understand Im seeing those pictures I stop seeing them . Everything just blacks out and even if I wait for an hour they wont come back . I think that Ill try it again toorrow and try to sleep but I cant . My mind is too awake to sleep - I wont see pictures but it feels like Ive drank a litre of coffee . My body often feels a bit numb but Ive never felt SP . Yesterday I went to bed didnt move at all . Counted numbers , relaxed , saw HI untill all blacked out . I did a RC but everything was OK . I looked at the time and realized I had spent about 2 and a half hours not moving . Every time the same . And afterwards I just couldnt sleep . I do not understand where`s the problem .

Besides trying WILD Ive also tried WBTB and MILD . Any of them works . Altough Ive seen some really absurde dreams ( For example my BF is a woman ) I never think its weird . " Why should I do a RC when hes always been a woman ? " :eh:

Maybe You can give me some advice . What am I doing wrong ?

In my opinion I have all what it takes to get a LD . I really believe in it , I know it it easy , I remember my dreams very well , I analyze them , I can stay still for hours and I have a very big willpower .
I know it may take some time but I`ve made no progress .

About a month and a half ago I was able to see a LD for about 10 seconds . I just didnt try to get a LD and fell asleep normally . I woke up after 7 hours asleep just after my dream had ended and shut my eyes to sleep some more . I started to see a normal dream . Suddenly it all went black and I really thought I had woke up in real life . I opened my eyes but everything was bright white altought my rooms black . I realized Im having a LD . I rolled myself out of bed , looked at it to see if my bodys still sleeping . It wasnt . I stared to go to the kitchen but as soon as I had made a couple of steps I felt like I was sucked in a vacum cleaner and I woke up in RL . In a same position I woke up in a LD . Im pretty sure it was a LD . But it was my first and only one . Now Ive practised much harder with no result .

HELP ME PLEASE . I`M DEPRESSED !

Huh .

First of all, you are using the term LD in the wrong way. LD stands for Lucid Dream, så you are not “trying to see LD”, you are “trying to have a LD” - And in WILD, from what I’ve read, you count “One, I’m dreaming - Two, I’m dreaming…”

And if you would read your post you’d notice that you are actually answering your own question- Cause there is really nothing more to do then try some different techniques and keep doing RC’s and stuff.

Oh, and your “I was able to see LD for 10 seconds” - “I had a LD which lasted 10 seconds”.

Don’t get too obsessed with lucid dreaming- Myself I didn’t have a lucid dream until I stopped “hunting” for one. Do the rc’s and try the techniques, but for god’s sake try to keep your brain from overheating…

Why do you have to be so mean . I`m sorry . English is not my mother language and in my language we say SEE A DREAM and SEE A LD .

I dont try it too hard . I just count the numbers and why should I say " ONE . Im dreaming " instead of saying "Im LDing " ? Everything goes fine untill all the movies and pictures in my head suddenly dissapear . I asked why this happens . How did I answere my question ? Maybe Im dumb but I don`t understand why it happens .

ChararaDY

Hes not being mean you fool, hes simply pointing out you’re mistakes, learn the difference.

And yes you are making yourself out to be dumb.

I came here to get some help and all I got was wining about my bad english . I didn`t ask what should I do . I asked You why do the HI stop at one point .

I had always thought here are very helpful and friendly people but now Im really dissapointed . Why do you have to nag on things that are not important ? I cant write some words and you don`t understand the question I asked and that makes me fool ?

Hey CharaDY,

from your first post I think the problem is that you’re trying too hard. As you said, you got all it takes to get an LD - but maybe you even got too much. Do you know what I mean? Give yourself a break. Starting today, try not to think about LD or try any technique for one week or two. Just try to get some sleep and forget about LD.

And by the way, I think your English is very good.

Joe

Thank you , Joe !
So I should think less of it ? I`ll make a brake for a week or two , thanks .

Ive realized there are many levels of being conscious . One is looking inside your eyelids . The second is looking in the middle of you eyebrows ( where the third eye is said to be ) and the third is looking deep inside your brain . In the first case Im very conscious and its very easy to consentrate on counting but impossible to fall asleep . Looking inside your head often messes up the counting and theres a big chance Ill fall alseep but it wont make me stay awake for hours ( not in all cases , of course ) . Which level should I use when I`ll try again with LDs after some time ?

Try doing LD’s during naps mid-day. Stay clothed and sleep on your covers. When most people nap, they don’t fully let go. They’re still “ready” for what may come and it’s known to them that it’s a temporary sleep. Many people find it easier to explore the area between awake and dreaming. By exploring how you sleep during naps, you’re more likely to be refreshed afterwards and not miss on crucial night-time restful sleep.

Try that out for a while. Don’t try and LD while doing this nap exercise. Just drift on the edge and relax. You very well may not have an LD from this, so don’t try. This alone has helped me greatly in my quest for dreaming consciously.

Also, I find that when I awake in the middle of the night or morning, that I’m lazy as heck. I usually don’t try and WILD then. When I have tried hard before, it didn’t work. However, when I did the falling asleep after waking up while trying using the napping method mindset, I had an LD.

When this happens, don’t question the visions and experiences in the conscious dream. That’s the hard part. Just watch them. If you watch them and let it happen and not really think a whole lot, it will probably happen for you. Watch the images and sounds like you would a really boring TV show when you’re bored and just sorta staring at the screen and not thinking about much of anything. That’s the sort of attentiveness you want for a dream. You know you’re not paying attention to what’s on the TV, but you sure know you’re watching it and not thinking much.

My theory is that this works because you’re not trying. When you try, you’re conscious of what you’re trying to do. That can never work when you’re trying to focus on counting and whatnot during WILD.

Read lots, ask yourself when anything remotely strange happens during the day “Am I awake or dreaming, is this real or unreal” or something along those lines. Question reality all the time. Be aware of your surroundings, even if you cant seem them. It will improve your already great visual imagination, and get the ball rolling in the right direction.

So keep those in mind, and for heaven’s sake, get some good sleep, you deserve it.

I got exactly the same problem :woo:

I can’t belive he got upset because I corrected him (Not the first time it has happened though). I mean, if you never get corrected, you’ll never know what you’ve done wrong.

And to give the answer which everyone else gave including me though mine didn’t quite go through for some reason:
