How Am I Supposed To Keep My Eyes Still?!

moved from Gen Luc :moogle:

I was trying to relax to where you go into SP, and I was half-way there and my limbs started to go numb after like 10 minutes. But then after over an hour later, there was no difference. My eyes still wouldn’t shut and stay still. I think the reason the SP didn’t get any stronger is because my eyes wouldn’t quit twitching and opening. I lied down at 10:00 PM, and no it’s going on 12:00 PM…

This is frustrating. All I wanna do is keep my eyes still so I can relax and when my alarm clock goes off, hopefully get into a LD after that. But no matter how much I focus, or how much I unfocus, it doesn’t work! :grrr:

Try blinking rapidly before you attempt to WILD or anything similar. Sometimes you stare when you close your eyes and that causes them to open. If you blink rapidly, it will tire them out enough to stay still.

Let us know how that works out.

Hello!

Nice to see you are trying, WILD is an amazing technique with unique experiences. Keep trying.

No, you don’t need to keep your eyes shut at the beginning, and you can move a bit.
It is recommended to stand still to quicken the process.

If you are a beginner, I would recommend using MILD, both techniques can be used together, and MILD is much easier for most starters.

I agree with Tggtt.

I believe that worrying too much about your eyes moving or not will be much more of a problem on your WILD atempt than the movement itself

I’ve found it’s mainly a focus problem. Not a lack of, but too much. I find if I focus to hard on a particular place, including eyes, that it causes more trouble then anything. Relaxing helps, but it’s even better if you aren’t thinking about it. If I let my mind wander for a few minutes, then concentrate on breathing, that I feel fine, and usually don’t have any problems.
