I’m new, i have been trying to lucid dream for a while. But i haven’t ever had one. I once (in a dream) was in a room and saw some writing and looked away and the writing had changed, but as soon as i realized i was dreaming i had a false awakening. How can i prevent this?
The one and most important thing is to try not getting too excited. I’ve had an easy time learning to LD (Started trying in the beginning of the year and I have about 3 every week, too bad I’m too lazy to write most of them down). My LD’s usually come in waves. I don’t have a single one then suddenly I get like 3 or 4 LD’s in just a couple of days. One thing I noticed is that the first ones are often low quality and short LD’s since I get way too excited and try too much stuff that’s still out of my league. That always wakes me up but the later LD’s in the waves are often long enough for me to have the time to try out whatever I want.
So my point is: Don’t get too excited when you realize that you’re dreaming. Even though it’s hard when you get it for the first time.
Now I’m not gonna waste more of your time. I have been working all night so my writing probably looks like a drunken mans phliosophies
FAs don’t seem to be uncommon for LDers, actually. My suggestion is every time you wake up, automatically perform a RC. By doing that, you can catch a lot of FAs that would otherwise simply be NDs. (That’s a lot of acronyms I just used… heh…)
Hey welcome to the site and good luck on your lucid journey!
I think what MatrixManNeo said is the best solution. But I reckon it was just a bit of bad luck and that it probably wont happen again, but just to be sure you should try what MatrixManNeo said.
It’s the best way to prevent losing lucidity in FAs. But I am always concerned that I am actually awake and can fall asleep again and perhaps reenter the dream, so I don’t want to move and spoil the chance. I have no clue if I have missed FAs because of this.
Thanks ill try not to get too excited.
Lastnight i had a lucid dream (well kind off). I was on a balcony talking to someone. I realised i would never be on this balcony with this person i dont know. So i said " im dreaming". Thanks to you i rememberd to stay calm, and then made some lucid cola to appear. And then drunk it (yum). But the anoyingthing is that i could not remember the rest of the dream. Im sure there was more and i didnt just wake up.
I can relate, sort of. This morning I dreamed, and I am pretty sure I was lucid in part of one dream. But I can remember anything about the lucidity. Only that I woke up and knew I had been lucid in the dream. Perhaps I knew then when and how it was, but I tried to get back to sleep and continue the dream. When the time came to write it down I didn’t remember. But somehow I remember the “entire” dream.
Now im starting to not remember dreams even though i useualy do.
