Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone can give me the very basic steps as to how to meditate in order to increase LD frequency? Do you just sit in the basic yoga position for … 20 minutes and let your thoughts flow? Or are there any specific mental exercises that I should do? I’ve never mediated before though I am very interested, especially since I heard it has a huge effect on how often you can LD!! Anyone?
Noone can really tell You how to meditate effectively, it the end it will always come down to You.
I do what I call Being. Well simply put I just Be, no thoughts no judgments. That is My meditation but it could very well not be Yours, (Many people have many different methods of meditation but they more or less all seek the same goal)
I find that meditation before I sleep (By the way meditating cuts down My need for sleep) actually increases the vividness and length of My dreams but I do not know what bearing if any it has has on My lucidity.
NewbieLD,
Do you have frequent LD’s? I just tried meditating but it only lasted 5 minutes. It’s too noisy around here right now. I’ll definitely give it a try about 10 - 15 minutes before going to bed though. I read a book once (shocking, I know… jk) was called … Controlling Your Dreams? or Control Your Dreams. Anyway, the author presented all these facts and those who meditated had LDs far more often, some had on average 18 per week!! So I just thought I’d check it out.
No I wouldn’t say frequent, I haven’t been too occupied with LD’s lately but meditating causes My dreams to be particularly vivid and long so it would probably just be a matter of concentrating on LD and then doing the meditation also.
If You are interested in meditation I would suggest that You stick with it, the postive effects are quite varied. I AM not adept, at most I can sit for an hour maybe more but I can reach fairly deep states during that time. I do not know if You have used any drugs but I find a good meditation session can be the equivalent of taking ecstasy.(Of course if meditating for spiritual purposes I would suggest not becoming attached to any particular effect).
Sorry for typing so much. In short, I LD occasionally but I would not be surprised if coupling LD techniques such as RC and meditation if I would become a frequent LDer.
In fact I may try it.
Well I’m looking forward to the feeling of it. I have no idea what it would feel like, so! As for drugs, I am and have been 110% clean my entire life. Not so much as a single puff, drag, sip, nothin’! (Just wanted to share that )
I have to remind You though that any possible effects will not neccesarily be immediate. It took Me a while to find what worked for Me, and well nothing else worked. If Your really interested do not let Yourself be discouraged it’s said that some people go years without any single experience and others have positive experiences from their very first attempt.
Of course I do not know if any experiences in meditation will have a bearing on Your dreams, it’s possible You wont experience anything and then have a night of total LD, who knows.
Interesting. What kind of experiences are we talking about? Can you describe any? I noticed you spell “You” “Your” etc with a capital. I am deeply honored.
Experiences are very personal, many people describe many things. My experiences are basically rounded into Bliss and a feeling of Oneness but even these are minute experiences compared to the experiences of Bliss and Oneness others have described.
My writing of You and Your is a reference to My belief of complete and total Oneness.
how did you get started NewbieLD
im looking at doing a introduction workshop of some sort
