How do I stay calm during WILD?

Today I took a nap to attempt WILD. I passively watched the HI as usual, and eventually random stuff starting appearing, and I wandered into some sort of half-asleep state. Soon after, I saw an image on my eyelids that was as clear as day. I usually briefly lose awareness when I have these, but this time i was completely conscious. Because of this, I got excited, and this completely ruined my attempt. Is there any way of staying calm during these?

Control yourself, that is all. See the image: “Hm… really? Okay” Consider it an advance, but don’t praise it too much.

It would be much better if you attempted WILD after a WBTB since you are near your REM sleep. My advice would be to try visualizing a dream scenario from those images you see. I have only suceeded in WILDing only once after many trys but remember, don’t give up.

Try watching the clearer pictures like you watch the HI; passively and without losing awareness. I know thats easier said than done but it’ll get easier once you get the hang of it.
