How does this plan sound? (VILD related)

okay to start off, im basically using Pedros version of VILD, if you don’t know what it is i’ll do a mega quick run down(correct me if im wrong:P). Basically, you imagine the start of dream, like a place(ill get into mine later) and then in that scenario make it so you do a RC and then become lucid.

Anyways, my VILD “Scenario” is this : I wake from bed, sit up, then look at my wall, and a big poster in this like radical font(not my idea, it was the first thing that popped into my mind:P)says “Do A Reality Check”, so then i pinch my nose and try to breath through my fingers, if i can, yay im lucid. If i can’t, im still not in a dream.

Now, onto my actual questions:

  1. Do you think practicing this scenario when im actually awake would help? like, before i fall asleep i would basically lay in bed and sit up and pretend to see a poster on my wall and then do the RC(then probably repeat this a couple times, gradually working my way up to just running it through in my mind)? I for one think it would because it would help me simulate the situation more in my mind since after doing it alot i’d be able to sort of memorize the feelings and the images and stuff.

2.The other thing im thinking of doing is ACTUALLY putting the poster from my VILD scenario in my room, like making one and putting it in the same spot, so this way it would help to simulate the situation even more.

  1. Lastly, do you think putting things around where i go telling me to do an RC would help? like maybe setting my screensaver to tell me to do a RC or maybe put something in my closet telling me to do one?:stuck_out_tongue:

If you actually put the poster in your room too, make sure you dont fall for a false awakening, try doing more than 1 reality check.

put somewhere on the poster ‘reality check’

Practicing the excercise while you are awake definitely helps when you’re visualizing it. It’s hard to imagine the various sensations when you don’t normally pay attention to them. However, when you do practice what you’re going to visualize, you can make sure you remember what everything feels like.

thanks for the replies guys, and yah i would try to get the poster as close to my VILD scenario one as possinble, i.e. A rectangle shaped poster with the words " Do a Reality Check!" on it.

yay so, i did this last night(minus the RL poster) but anyways, at one point i remember “waking up” doing the breathing RC and actually breathing through my fingers, it was weird because it was like the freshest seeming air i’ve ever breathed O_o, sadly though i woke up instantly after the RC.

So if this wasnt me just dreaming about LDing then i had like the lowest level LD ever, kind of like my other one a long time ago when i became lucid just long enough to do a quick flight:P

But either way, yay on my second wannabe LD, now maybe ill get an LD soon where ill actually have full control and it will last longer than 10 seconds haha.
