How long?

I’ve been reading some of the posts in this section of the forums, and I’ve read that some people get like 1 LD per month. Why so long? Can’t you go into a lucid state whenever you want, if you use certain techniques?

No, you can’t become lucid whenever you want. I become involved with LDing like 2 years ago. And i practiced it for about 2-3 months. I found methods like MILD/DILD were just way to unreliable and i found myself just hoping that i would be sucessful. and this resulted in like 4 LD’s a month which sucks. So i stopped for a while and got backinto it this january. I decided to practice WILD because it seems like you can LD whenever you want. Ive had like 10 ld’s already with WILD for the most part. Its been taking alot of practice to get here and i still need a whole lot more. Its alot more reliable but i feel i cant only do WILD with certain sleep schledues under certain circumstances. Maybe ill get better. Id suggest starting to learn WILD if your LD # is quite low…good luck

The frequency with which people can have LD’s differs depending on the person. Different techniques work differently for different people too.

Some people can LD naturally all the time while others work hard and have few LD’s. Just how it is. :eh:

One thing that helps a lot is meditation (on a regular basis). Try it, it works for me and it’s helped a lot of other people too.

I would try meditation, but I do not know how to start, or what to do. Could you please explain your method of meditation? What do I do? What do I think about? ETC.

Im focusing more and more on WILD and less on everything else, except for LL.

ToxicMen,

There are a ton of different forms of meditation. Just go to about.com and search for “meditation”, they have links that describe several methods in-depth.

When I first started out, I used Brainwave Generator with the built in preset “Schumann Resonance” (free) and focused on the sound, while controlling my breathing. Now I just sit or lay down and visualize a single object by itself, and focus on that object and my breathing.

Try imagining your mind as a blank slate, and don’t let it wander. Then pick something, visualize it, and focus on it. You could also focus on your breathing.

Hope this helps, if you need more description let me know.

Yeah, I don’t think you can get into an LD whenever (though I’d love to be proven wrong this). I, especially, won’t be able to seing as my best technique is DILD–WBTB is my second best, but I can’t use that technique every night…I’m trying to learn WILD, though–that technique seems like if you use it enough and get more accustome to it through practice, there might be a chance that you can LD on choice…

I’ve heard that you can get very high-level LDs by opening all your chakras, or even better; an OOBE! True? I might try it for six months it has been proved to work. :astral:
