How to remember to keep on using RC's

I have been trying to get a LC for about 2 years now and I never had a good one, mainly because I always forget to do the RC’s!

Sometimes I make alarms with my mobile to help me remember to do them, but my mobile supports only up to 6 daily alarms, and the rest I have to do via my mobile’s calendar for each day, and that is loads of work :neutral:

Does anyone have any tip or advice to remember using RC’s every 20 minutes or so? I always forget using them and end up having done only 3 at a day.

RC’s actually help a ton, just get focused on LD’ing, have a true intent to LD, and tell yourself you are going to have a LD tonight, and it actually helps, two nights ago i had 2 which were both really short but it is a good start. Also get a few friends who would be really interested in LD’s, i have had one friend, but recently i told another and for some reason i have been doing a lot more RC’s

Good advice there. Its mainly about your mind.

But if you want to remember doing RCs, have an object in mind, and everytime you see that object do an RC.

For example, i read somewhere that this guy did an RC everytime he saw clouds. So you could try that, but if you know some of your DS, you could do a RC everytime something connected to your DS shows up.

And always do one when you wake up :wink:.

I find simply being more aware of your surroundings helps me a lot to do RC’s. Normally when I’m walking somwhere, I’m always lost in my own daydreaming.

But now, every time I’m outside, I’ve started looking around me, being more aware of where I am, what I feel etc. And that automatically leads me to questions such as “is this normal?”, “Is this place familiar”; and I will always do an RC then :smile:

Havent really thought about it but thats so true. And often i just pass stuff in my dreams thats all wrong but i dont notice. This should help :smile:

Couldn’t you just use a Snooze function?
I usually just choose an alarm to start the Snooze-chain, and then I set Snooze to activate every 30 minutes or so - this actually works for a very long time as well, at least on my phone.

The disadvantage of using alarms to remember to do a RC’ is that the alarms only occur in WL and don’t happen in your dream, so you’ll never do the RC in a dream that way. Also playing the same short alarms while sleeping only seems to work a couple of times because after a while you simply won’t even notice them anymore, like any other common background noise.

So when choosing the event when to do a RC you should:

  • make sure the event occurs both in WL and in your dreams
  • make sure it occurs not too often (tiring) and not too rare. 5-10 times a day would be good.

Do a RC every time you walk through a door. Or when you sit in a chair, couch, etc.

Remembering to do RC’s already goes much better, I do about 18 a day now. But, I would like to do the door technique posted earlier (do a RC when you step through a door) but I keep on forgetting to do that actually :neutral: I know it’s supposed to help me remember to do them, but I can’t make myself to do it everytime I step through a doorway or open one.
