Hi i tried a wild last night, can someone tell me if i accomplished anything last night:
I tried to WILD and was tring the counting thing. I just saw purple, then I think a steamboat (I think), then the boat disapeared and I saw just a sheet of green. I tried “zooming in” like suggested. Then I opened my eyes to see if I was having my first LD. Then I did several reality checks, and guess what… no LD. I tried again but fell asleep.
Hypnagogic imagery is a work in progress with me. I’m getting better at it than I am at lucid dreaming.
I get the most vivid Hypnagogia in two ways:
1.) Dismiss EVERYTHING from my mind. Gently, though. Dismiss every sound, picture, thought, as though I’m trying to hear my own internal static. If I hold this conscientiously, I slip off enough to have a rich image flash up.
2.) Count myself to sleep. “1 I’m dreaming, 2 I’m dreaming etc.” This has never gotten me a LD but it sure has triggered some interesting hypnagogia. Several times I’ve gotten close to sleep paralysis with this, but it’s a threshold I can’t cross just yet.
Yesterday night, I had (hypnagogic imagery?) : I was driving a car and all of a sudden, white lights were striking my eyes, I “woke up” and I could see the white flash just before my eyes upon the “black curtain” of my eyelids.
Was it HI ?
It’s just like you stabilize a dream. Make sure you don’t get excited, cause it will ruin it- Focus on the object and let it “evolve” into a scene. When you have a scene, then you can “zoom” into it.
Tried again, I didn’t get HI but I think I got SP, that is before I opened my eyes and ruined it, then fell asleep. ( I remember my dream very vividly though)
