I moved this to Adventures because it’s about a problem while dreaming
ok i woke up this morining naturaly and was like " im awake so i might as well try a FILD " i did not even think it would work but i moved my thingers and when i thought it was time to do a reality check i pinched my nose … and air went through… i was happy so i got out of bed mad shure i was still dreaming and then closed the door to my room and said in my head “this door leadss to a tropical paradise” oppened it and all i saw was my hallway( itryed like 3 times.) then the dreams started to fade so i was rubing against stuff and i got the dream to come back… so then i go to the mirror in the bathrom and look in and backgrount of the reflection is diff from what is realy behind me
can some1 tell me y i was not able to use a door to change settings
Sometimes the dream is too weak to change settings to much. You need to test your lucidness before.
Calm down, look at yourself, your environment like it was for real, and believe hardly that you can control it.
It might be strange, but if you think the environment is a fake, you will weaken the dream, but if you think it’s too real, you might lose your powers and lucidness. You need to stay between those bounds.
i have changed settings before but even then the door method would not work the only way it worked was to spin( i dont want to risk losing the dream by doing a spin)
I have no idea what FILD is but, focus on keeping your surroundings stable in dreams first, then focus on changing! Dreaming is all about matering the area’s, it’s sort of fun, presenting a challenge.
Thanks much KT. So it is not an “official” technique ‘yet’? Still, pretty cool. I may test this method later next month, atm I am running my own method through the test.
I would say it’s just a matter of trial and error. (Hint: I use metaphors a lot)
It is just like riding a bike, you can’t just try it once and succeed, and even if you finally get it once, you can still fail the next time. Practice makes perfect(ish).
Spinning is actually a way to prolong lucid dreams, so you wouldn’t be in danger of losing your dream by doing it. Still, i don’t teleport much, myself.
I think I’m going to try a new way of changing locations in dreams. I’m actually kind of afraid of doing it, because I remember one time I tried doing it before IRL, and I ended up loosing consciousness for a few hours and got a massive headache. Hehe…
But it’s kind of like tearing your body from where you are in the world, just ripping away from everything, without care, without hazard, just leaving. Then I guess I would probably try to appear somewhere else, I dunno, I didn’t get that far IRL.
Now that I think about it, now that I’m older I think I’m going to try doing it IRL again, just to see what happens. This time I think I’ll do it outside though. Because it was an incredibly strange feeling before I passed out if I remember correctly.
sometimes you can’t change something just like that and maybe you weren’t fully lucid and not in complete control of the dream in wich case it probably wouldn’t have worked
