I have LD for months and I try everything to explain LD to her.
She did read EWLD and try all techniques, but nothing works for her, because her dreams are so real for her (no dream sign or anything athwart), and RC doesn’t work also. She did try RC for weeks (I tell her how RC works for me), but nothing.
Maybe she now also have problem with motivation, because nothing work for her, and she did try every technique we can find.
One possible solution is meditation; but one would have to meditate regularly for that to really help out in the frequency one has lucid dreams. Now, for those who know me, I’ve probably mentioned this following fact enough times for it to become redundant. Here goes:
A while back, I had read somewhere that those who meditate on a daily basis tend to have lucid dreams more frequently than non-meditators. It has something to do with the two of those activities being closely tied together.
Now, just this knowledge won’t guarantee your friend anything, and I’m not saying that it will positively give her lucid dreams. On top of that you also have to get her into meditation, and do some research on different meditation techniques, which is another stoy altogether.
I’d like to know more about her motivation; is she eager to experiment with new ideas? In that case, you shouldn’t have too many problems with getting her to meditate. In that case, if it seems like the only option at this point. If you’re interested in this idea, and desperate enough to try anything, a great site which tells a lot about meditation is www.wildmind.org
I hope your friend manages to get LDs. It just comes easier for some people more than others.
Oh, and if she’s not a member already, don’t forget to tell her to register.
First off, you said that she said her dreams were too real. So she isn’t very motivated, as she has to be as optimistic as possible. Secondly, you said RC’s don’t always work. That is true, so that is why someone who does RC’s must do more than one at a time. For example, when i RC i count my fingers and i check the time.
Try this as well. Tell her to take a break from LD. Tell her not to think about it and not to try to get it, just to sleep normally for a week. DO NOT tell her that she might get a LD from taking a break. Two things will happen:
She might get a LD
After the ‘break’, she will be ready to go back to LDing and hopefully get a LD.
Why don’t you ask her to join this forum? This forum has helped me get a lot of LD’s.
Normal dreams are “real” for everybody, that is, everybody thinks they are in reality when they dream. About the dreamsign problem, it’s just a bad way of considering the problem: everybody have dreamsigns, they don’t need to be dreamlike and curious. Common dreamsigns are even more useful, cause you can practice RC’s IRL. If she can’t find dreamsigns, it means that she doesn’t classify correctly her dreams.
She should work like this: who does she meet in dreams? Are they always the same persons, or very often one person? Does she meet animals for instance? What events come over and over, what are her actions (for instance driving a car). In what locations is she in dreams? etc.
I don’t think you can force anybody to have LD’s. I’m talking about LD’ing for years with a friend and he never has LD’s. LD’ing is a personal thing and your friend has to involve herself in it if she really want to have LD’s.
