and have had them since i was 7 or 8. I’ve never really used any method to induce them, but I have found that thinking about past dreams I’ve had before going to sleep or just telling myself “I want to have a lucid dream” as I’m falling asleep can do it. Anyone else find that this works? I did not at first realize it was a lucid dream, or do anything to attempt to control it or do it again, but since then I have learned to do both.
As far as I can remember, I never had any proper LDs (where I was in control) as a child, but I was occasionally able to escape from nightmares by shaking my head when I realised I was dreaming. Since I joined LD4All I have had two low level LDs without any conscious attempt to use a technique, whereas techniques haven’t had much effect on me. I suppose it’s just different for different people.
