Ok, so what happened was when I went to bed I attempted a WILD. I first started to count, but then lost track and just watched the HI colors and spots. I believe thats when I drifted off, but I ‘woke up’ to an alarm clock; my alarm clock. I think that it could have been an opportunity for an LD for a couple reasons.
Firstly; I didn’t set my alarm clock that morning, and I usually don’t anyway.
Second; When I think about what I can remember, I recall ‘waking up’ to my alarm clock multiple times this morning, even though I shut the alarm off each time, not pressing the snooze button.
Could this have been a false awakening? Am I getting closer?
I think? Even if only for a few moments?
Probably a false awakening, possibly several times. You weren’t lucid though, since you didn’t realize you were dreaming. I wouldn’t try WILD when you first start. Also, don’t try it at bedtime. It’s best to try it after a few hours of sleep. That’s when your sleep cycle is a bit better suited to WILD (during a WBTB). However, as I said, I’d recommend MILD and maybe DEILD to start out with. DEILD is just like WILD, except that when you wake up, you don’t move, and go back into the dream similarly to WILD.
I don’t usually wake up in the middle of the night, I’m a rather heavy sleeper. And what I really meant was that in one of the false awakenings I had, I could have become lucid.
I probably shouldn’t be starting out with WILD, and I will try other methods for now, but its worth a try. ^^ I will try DEILD, if I can, but again I’m a heavy sleeper.
:edit: I got into the HI’s not that long ago, but then I lost it when the phone rang. : ]
