Hey there. First of all, I’m sorry this is so long post, but it contains all of my questions to lucid dreams and dreams in general, so rather than posting ten questions in ten different topics I created a big one.
So, I’ve been reading about all those Lucid Dreams, SP etc. so I started to think, this may be the only way I can… live the life I want to. I mean, this life I’m living right now is so boring, nothing interesting is going on, and I mean in this real life, everything is so boring and … simply not interesting.
About a 5 years ago, I had sleep paralysis, and I’m really curious about how’s my brain working when I’m asleep, or having SP. Well, I was sleeping at my grandparents house, and from my bed I could see my grandma sleeping. So I just woke up, and couldn’t move. I was really scared, but what was worse, when I looked at my grandma she was like… well, try to imagine sleeping person, you know he’s moving, he’s turning and so on, just like every person does in sleep, or most of them. And then imagine it but like ten times faster. I also heard the clocks ticking far more faster than normal. Then about 1minute, (it could be 10 minutes, I can’t remember) everything slowed down and I was finally able to move, I was so scared…
I have 2 theories for this. First one is, simple halucination caused by SP. Second one, what if while we are asleep, our brain works slower, regenerating itself and letting our subconsciousness doing all the dream-work ? Then, if we would wake up in middle of this, while most of our brain is “turned off”, or just working much slower than normal, we could see time going faster. I don’t know much about this, that’s why I’m asking you.
And, about month later, I experienced sleep paralysis about 3times in a row. It was so amazing and scarrying. I was taking my afternoon nap, and suddenly I realized I cannot move. But I still could think clearly, however paralysis caused me to panic. Then I heard this strange sound, first thing that came up to my mind was “hmm, this is clearly a dream, and it sounds like when many lego pieces are falling down”. I knew it’s just a dream and it is not real. But the sound was just scary and the fact I couldn’t move was even more scarying because I didn’t knew anything about SP. And, when I opened eyes, I couldn’t move even them but I saw with corner of my eye some dark person standing behind me. It wasn’t moving, just standing there. Somehow, and I don’t know if this was dream, or some false awakening, but I managed to … turn arround, (still was in SP) and see what’s behind me, and then it like “dragged” me to my previous same position. I was sure it wasn’t dream, but is it possible to be in SP, then move and then go back to SP ?
Well anyway, I finally woke myself up with my willpower and again, I was so scarried I just tried to fall asleep again. And, the TOTALLY same thing hapened again. Totally totally same thing, except for the part that I turned and saw what’s behind, that I think happened only once.
So, WTF was this? Could it be that it was false awakening? I hardly think so because it was just real, and everyone can see the difference between reality and dreams. But if this was FA, then I WANNA experience more, because it was so real. And even if not, I just want to experience that SP again. It was… most exciting thing that happened to me in my life. Even if it was scarrying like hell, I so wanna to do this again. And, I ask myself, if SP is so cool, what it would be like having LD…
About 2weeks ago, I dreamed that I was at someone’s house, and suddenly my mom came over with some really very ugly, fat guy. I realized this can’t be true, coz my mom would never date someone like this. I then became lucid in that dream, but it didn’t last very long and I … well, I was aware that this is a dream, but I wasn’t aware that I am aware Strange, huh ? Well, was this a lucid dream ? It was just like any normal other dream, and I thought LD’s are much more “real” .
Also, one last question. What about those i-dosers and so? I recently downloaded an mp3 pack. I don’t know, how to use these? If possible, I want mp3 that will get you at least into sleep paralysis, if nothing else. I can get myself there, I just need to be patient and focused. Simply try to sleep but focus on checking if you can think clearly. Suddenly I’ll realize I’m paralyzed. But with some mp3 it would be far easier to actually have LD I guess. Are there ones like that? Or there are just those that you need to hear anytime at a day, and then maybe you will have LD ?
And yes, I’m doing reality checks but it doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Best and most real dreams I have at my afternoon naps, and maybe some of them were lucid sometime I just didn’t know it. But most of the time I realize I’m dreaming is because of normal, logical deduction. I think that’s thanks to the kind of person I am, I just have to analyze everything and if something doesn’t seem to be right, I try to figure it out. And that doesn’t change in dreams. However I never did reality check I do in wake state in dream (like the thing with breathing, checking the clocks 2 times in a row, or trying to push something through something, like hand through wall).
Anyone that have read it all the way down, thank you !
