Im a newbie! Would like some help = )

Hey guys,

I had a lucid dream about a week ago, i was just having a nap during the day and then it happened! i realiased i was in a dream, and i was able to control it.

I have practiced before to try and do an Out of body experience, but man thats way to hard  and then i typed in controlling dreams and i met up with this site! well neway,

I have done it twice during the day, the first time i was just ringing up everyone i knew! it was amazing. and i could feel that i could make myself wake up, as if i was just holding onto the dream.

The next time I just had a nap and was trying to do a MILD and failed, so i just went to sleep and i was in one. I could make myself fly, it was so cool. I could even look down on my bed and see myself sleeping, although i wasnt in my own house, i was somewhere completely different, which was weird. When i woke up i was just like OMG i just had a lucid dream, it was an amazing feeling

And no, i didnt write down any of the lucid dreams i had

The other night I tryed to have a LD doing the WILD tactic. I shut my eyes and concentrated on the patterns, and just stay still and relaxed, i started to not be able to feel my body and i felt a real nice feeling, and the n i concentrated more on the patterns and it felt as if my eyes were opening, although they were close. I also could feel my eyes rapid moving or something

Anyway the feeling could more intense, and my heart just started to beat incredibly fast… , i got scared or excited and didnt manage to get there, and i opened my eyes.

Last night I gave it ago, for the wild technique, but it just wasnt working!! AHHHHH, i try so hard and if i sorta go crosseyed, i think i am when im closing my eyes i hear the noise when theres no noise at all? that high pitch thing, it gets alot louder and the patterns get more blacker and i feel like im surrounded with black. i tryed twice lying down on diffrerent sides of the bed last night but couldnt do it.

So then i was going to try the MILD technique, and just tell myself to remember i was in a dream, except i had a dream, and usually i dont have much dreams, but eversince i have started reading all those Lucid Dreaming stuff i seem to have alot more dreams.

But i had a dream, and it wast lucid, i can still remember wat sorta happened in the dream too. But i dont know why i just couldnt become Lucid!!!

If you guys have any tips or information or replies to this it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
SparX

Firstly: welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the lucid dream!

Most people say it’s much easier to induce a lucid dream either during a daytime nap or when falling back asleep in the early morning, so what you’re saying about the nap isn’t unusual.

One thing you said stood out to me: “usually I don’t have much dreams.” It’s important to realize that you do dream, 4 to 6 times a night. You just forget most of them. So as you become more and more interested about dreams, you’re more likely to remember the ones you have. That’s good! Now start writing them down. It really is crucial on the path to LDing. Once you’ve recorded enough dreams, you can begin identifying dream signs, which will in turn help you gain lucidity more frequently. I doubted this for a while, but now I’m seeing a new dream sign in my journal: family travel.

Best of luck!

A BIG :welcome: to the forum!

First, congrats, not many people have a lucid dream so fast! You seem to be quite acquainted with all the terms and methods of lucid dreaming! I hope you deeply enjoyed yourself.

Well, just don’t rush everything. If you do, and if you do not succeed in this short period, then you might start to lose confidence in yourself. So take it step by step, just like all babies learn to crawl before they walk. What happens if they try to walk immediately? They fall.

So although your first few dreams may be encouraging for you to pursue lucid dreaming, they were sort of spontaneous, and you must still start form the basics, and that is to keep a DJ.
I cannot stress enough, the importance of a DJ. It caused me a dryspell once, just because I neglected dream recall for a week.

So take it slowly, it sounds like you were pushing yourself in WILD too hard. You must relax. I cannot really advise you much on WILD because I myself am not much of a good WILDer. But I’m sure you are pushing yourself too hard on that. You must be comfortable before you can succeed.

So with all thatm gd luck!!!

Thanks guys,

I will begin to keep a DJ now,

Tryed again last night but no just had a normal dream, which i have now forgotten!!

Im going to be having a nap today, when i get home so this should increase chance of a lucid dream as the only two times ive had one were BOTH during the day!!!

ye a DJ will certainly help and you know its always nice if you can read about what has happened in a LD/ND afterwards

good luck

Good luck :content: I must admit, I’m rather envious. You’ve already had two LDs, and I haven’t even gotten close to one
Oh well… :sigh: All one can do is try. Here’s hopeing for the best for both of us.

Envy isn’t exactly the mindset you want to have. Becoming lucid isn’t a “race”, everyone does it at their own pace and there are no winners or losers only degrees of success. Since everyone has the potential to become lucid there is simply no need to compare yourself to others, this is only holding you back. You need to learn what works best for other people and then develop your own method.

By the way if you want to be really envious, check out the competition rankings. Some people have had in excess of 130 LD’s a month
