Ive tried wbtb+mild,so i go to bed at 10:00(pm) set my alarm for 4:00(am) fall asleep at 10:30(pm) then wake up at 4:00 then it all goes blurry and i just kind of unconsiously remember hitting the snooze button (i dont remember realy trying to though). So what do i do? I think WILD is a little freaky Like the old hag shivvers so no wild. What method should I try.If it helps any, im in junior high.

oops sorry about the incorrect age.

im in middle school and im having problems with lucidity too.i have tried the things that you have and im thinking about trying WILD.it might be worth it. you should just try it

Hmm well, it might take some time sometimes before you get a LD, so I’d say just keep trying.

The point of WBTB is to make your body asleep, but your mind awake, so the problem is… you have to actually, more or less, be awake. If you’re having a lot of trouble with waking up in the middle of the night, you can always place your alarm clock far away from your bed. Then you’d have to get up to turn it off, that might clear your head up a bit.

I think WILD sounds a lot freakier than it is… the old hag thing is rare, and most people never experience it at all. You could try it out, and if you don’t like it, just go back to MILD and WBTB.

Yes if you are going to try MILD with WBTB, then you need to get yourself awake enough to do the MILD befor you fall back asleep. With MILD, you can do it when you first go to bed. It works better if you do WBTB, but it can also work well if you just do it when you go to bed. What is important is to do the tech. compleatly. Don’t just think “I will do MILD” and go to sleep. You need to make up your sentence like “I will become aware that I am dreaming” repeat it several times, and spend some time visualizing yourself in a dream and becoming aware that you are dreaming. If you are not motavated enough to do that, then your chances of getting an LD are not very good.

Hi Hotrootsoup,

How many times and for how long did you try?

For me, the more I have Lucid Dreaming on my mind the less likely it will work. If you visit the forums a lot and study a lot about it it’ll digest into your brain and will be spat out into your subconscience when you’re sleeping. But when you’re first trying to Lucid Dream… It’ll usually happen when you’re not thinking too much about it. And WILD, for me… Isn’t scary at all. It’s not as scary as it sounds, for some people it is… But you might as well try. You won’t die or anything.

WILD does have some scary things that accompany it, however it really helped me to understand that these sensations were just my body going to sleep, they are normal and expected and aren’t really something that needs to be feared. After all, would you be afraid of the darkness when you blink?

Ok i got 3 answers/questions

1.) How often does the old hag happen.
2.) how creapy is the old hag/things that occompany WILD
3.) ive tried about 4/5 nights

Nvrmind im trying mild again becase i thought mild was something different.

Old Hag/SP is not very common, I’ve only run into it 4 times in about 2 years. As for creepiness the first time I had it I knew nothing so I was scared sh*tless, cause I thought a demon was gonna kill me. However now that I know that that I am just a little paralyzed from sleep and nothing else is real I absolutly love it because it is really easy to enter LD from there.

The sensations that acompany WILD aren’t scary at all IMO.

TEchniques are great and I think you should do whatever appeals to you. In my general opinion, the best technique to do is simply recording your dreams and thinking about them. When I actually put effort into my DJ, I seriously get at least one LD a night. In all honesty, WILD, MILD and all the big techniques never really worked for me. They did however strengthen my autosuggestion which is now my technique of choice.

I think what many new LDers have to realize is they cannot be solely connected to LDs alone. A person who has frequent LDs is not a strict LD master, it is a person who loves the dream state no matter lucid or not. As a new LDer, i understsand your question, but if u ever want to become a master LDer id reccomend you love all your dreams lucid or not

It is all just bull. The main reason for people experiencing that, is because they read about it somewhere on beforehand. I have wilded loads of times and have never ever experienced the old hag. And it cannot hurt you even if you do experience it, as it is all created by your own mind.
