Instant Trance Made Easy

moved to Beyond, since it fits better there than in Pathways ~ Q ~

Sit down where you are, at your computer, and give this a try.

Stop thinking.

Then, what is the first thought that comes after you stop thinking?

Repeat it back to yourself once, and stop thinking again.

Do this, grab and hold, and repeat each thought, pretty soon you won’t be thinking any-more, and your mind should stack into silence and alpha/theta pretty quickly.

I’ll give an example and do it right now :

i am not thinking
k, holding this --> k holding this
waiting
no thoughts for five seconds
hearing fan
writing my thoughts, they should stop
stop now wait k
no thoughts
i am aliv
Bush yrics associated with that immediately follow
stop
just keep saying stop to yourself
grab each one and scrutinize it
silence for a while
3-4 seconds of silence “the gaps get bigger”

and so on, you are just kind of, not DELIBERATELY thinking, but letting your thoguhts go, and each time one goes, you make sure you know what it said, by repeating it to itself, then you remind yourself to be quiet

you should be able to pause your thoughts enough to have a trance in five minutes

any people want to try ?

advanced theoretical rambling in a coherent manner
basically when meditating there is the idea, to let the thoughts go, but then they might go forever
then there is the idea to not think, which, if you don’t know how, still just lets the thoughts go wherever

then there is the breath, which is a powerful tool, wherein you don’t really care about the thoughts

but there is also the idea of “watching thoughts” and not letting them pass without saying “aha, i see you!” so for this all you do, very very easy and simple is sit down, and you don’t think at all, but then a thought will come up, so you grab it by the tail and by repeating it once in your mind (repeating it once in your mind) you can then stop again briefly (you can then stop again briefly) and when you do this (and when you do this) you get to where you can stop longer (you get to where you can stop longer) each time, and pretty soon the thoughts won’t really pop up a lot

and then they will start being subconscious thoughts, where they are hypnagogic in nature

after they have sort of settled down then you can just breathe, or do auto-suggestion, or things like that, or tell yourself a good story to dream about, or visualize, because you are at trance pretty quick

the other alternative is sometimes we don’t think enough, so our thoughts go crazy on their own, so we should use our conscious mind like it were telling a story, making it ramble on about whatever comes to mind for a long time, this way we have control of thoughts and when we stop rambling they quiet down.

now the final way is to use a mantra or a suggestion, and only say it once
such as “aum”

then wait til you forget that you said it, and say it again.

i don’t get what to do?

just stop thinking?

I’m doing this with music on so I’m not sure it’s going to be the same.

Staring
Uh
Samurai
Dice
Smilies
Stars
Raving
Peanut Nutrition Facts
Lord of the Rings
StarCraft
Alone
Allie

I’m actually not sure I did this right at all. I tend to be taking too many things that I see, not of what I think of first.

well you aren’t really supposed to write them down

you can say them out loud

or repeat them in your head

if you know where thoughts come from then you know where deep silence exists, and the subconscious begins

you just make sure that you notice each thought that you have, so that when a thought comes, you know it is there, and you hold onto it and take note, then let it go and wait for the next ones.

Appreciate it eyelids, I have been trying to figure out a quick way to get in the moment. This appears to be it, this should help me stay aware of my surroundings IWL so that I can in dreams.

CheeRs~! :content:

cool :woo:

let me know if it works

the idea is to stop thinking

everything else is just to help you stop thinking

like if this was your mind can you think this once “everything else is just to help you stop thinking”

then keep it there, until you forget it, then say it again ?

anything works that way you could say “i like to eat cookies” then hold that there, you never say it again until you forget it.

the act of forgetting sends it subconscious, the act of remembering brings subconscious conscious, and the tug of war either gets you enlightened or makes you fall asleep.

Wow, I think I’ve got it down now and it’s really quite fascinating. I get a real sense of being alive, does anyone else?

I do really love the Idea and the procedures, maybe it can help a lot so many people failing while trying WILD, if they don’t even know how to control their thoughts.
I’ve learned how to stop those sticky songs from playing inside my head, but thoughts? now you got me, I swear I’m still trying, I hope to get back with good results .

Trust me, it really works. :ok: :ok:

Alright. I’m going to trying this, but I’m not exactly sure what it’s supposed to do. So here we go…

/turns music off
/sits up straight and closes eyes
/stops thinking

frogs
jumble of random thoughts
that i can think of anything
an open and closed parentheses
an image of a mountain range flipped upside-down

I’m definitely doing something wrong. None of that made sense.

EDIT: When I do things and manually force myself to stop thinking, I cannot get the “stop thinking” thought out of my head. So I’m really still thinking.

I know how you feel Casualtie, that’s what happens with me.

Try thinking about what silence sounds like.

Deep Mohegan…

I’ll give it a try

Sit down, relax
Clearing my mind
image of the sun
piano keys

I stop this activity, it didn’t do anything

wait , what exactly is it supoosed to do ? or better , what did you want to archive clockwork ? i think you were close …

I’m sorry i tried to get past

clear mind

Can u use this technique to get LD easier? It should be working like an WILD shouldn’t it?

@DreamWalker_5

Yeah, check out dream yoga, in other words as I always say “being in the moment”. If you are able to live in the now all day long every day, your LD count will increase much higher than with any other technique. It is very difficult and can be frustrating at times but oddly peaceful. I just found this again and realized this was my trick to actually “staying” when my mind drifts.

Thanks again Eyelids. :content:

Yah I recently heard from a friend, thx for the info by the way

I agree w/ Inker; that’s the best technique and thanks for the advice.
But about the technique mainly discussed here, i think, the purpose is to clear the mind out of clutter, mindchatter etc. etc. i did once staring my eyes towards the ‘‘eye chakra’’ (not that i actually believe there is one there necessarily) and i had VERY VIVID DREAMS.

OOOOH!!! How do you get songs out of your head?!? PLEASE TELL!!!
I always have some song playing on & on in my mind, & as a
result, I need HOURS to do homework, leaving very little time for
AP practice.

Would you please post some tips, or a walkthrough? I gotta get these
freakin songs to stop. :ohno:

I just realized something from your topic eyelids. Ive never thought about this before, but if you repeat your thoughts your thought process is slowed down by 50 percent. So this could be why repeating a Mantra works. Very entersting
