Is this SP?

Ok. I’ve been reading this site alot, and DreamViews. I’ve been reading LeBerge’s book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, and I seem stuck. True, I am still new to this. I’ve tried WILDing about 5 times or so. I’m not expecting fast results, as I am a patient fellow.

Here’s my question:

I can lay down and get into a relaxed state. Eventually the room starts spinning, going in different directions now and then. I can get control it if I want. If it stops, I can get it started up again. I focus on the spot between my eyes. When I do this I can feel a presence there, a pressure (it’s not affected by my relaxation level, I can do it at anytime).

Then my eyes start to flutter. I’ve heard of this on the forums.

After a bit of time, it all stops, and no matter how long I lay there, nothing happens. I give up and try and go back to sleep. Only now it takes alot longer to do.

So uh… Yeah. :help: ?

Ha! That was my EXACT first post on WILD’s when I first started. I thought I was unique with the spinning. Was it just like a whooshing kind of feeling combined with seasick?

Also, the next step, should you be able to stay aware, and linger on the edge of sleep long enough, do you get what I call “black getting blacker?” I also haven’t heard anyone getting it either. It’s where you see you black eyelids, and then you see the black start to become more saturated? I’ve WILDED a bunch of times, so I know that your getting close. If you learn at the same pace as me, it’ll be about a year before you WILD successfully about 40% of the time. Hope to hear from you! :content:

As for the black getting blacker, not exactly. But close.
I’ll do my best to describe what it’s like for me.

First step is relaxing. I’m getting better at this. I get so where I can definitely move, I’m aware of my body, but I don’t feel it unless I move.

After that, about 20-30 minutes later the spinning starts. It’s either like my bed is rotating at a decent speed, or I’m rolling in the air. Usually both inter-mixed.

About 40% of the time I feel like I’m in outer-space, though there aren’t any stars. Gravity or lack of it doesn’t factor into this sensation. It’s entirely separate from my spinning or anything else. I’m just using it as an analogy for the feeling of immeasurability. (Sidenote: If you haven’t seen the movie “Nothing” by the guys that did Cube, you should) My vision isn’t necessarily blacker, it’s more of a sensation of infinity.

Then that’s about where my eyes start a-fluttering. It can get annoying sometimes, but I don’t necessarily dislike the actual sensation.

Recently I’ve noticed that my hearing will cut-out for a split second, like when you’re dozing off while sitting up doing something mind-numbingly boring. It only happens a few times per session. Also, I notice myself nodding off sometimes, but the weird part is, I can know when I’m doing it, then pull myself back afterwards, though not necessarily right away when I catch myself.

Oh, and I’ve never had the stereotypical Sleep Paralysis where you can’t move. Never had HI or HH either, though once I thought I saw a couple tiny splinters of light a few centimeters big.

My goal is to explore the edge of dreaming and waking as much as possible, after lucid dreams, and as part of a WBTB, so I get a better understanding of how I fall asleep. I’m also taking up Zen meditation for various reasons. LDing is probably 50% of why. :content: My major block is not being able to let my thoughts flow in front of me passively. I explained the Lucid Dream concept to one of my good friends a week ago. He went to bed that night after I left, and had a WILD with no problem. It was easy as cake for him. He dismissed it as cool, and that was about it. He said he just meditates down to awareness and falls into a dream. Lucky bugger.

Last night/this morning I was in a Lucid Dream (all this focusing on it has been causing DILDs for me surprisingly often. Just not really 100% in control and lucid) and I was right on the edge of waking up and fading out of it. I managed to 90% wake up, then border on the edge and fall back into with some concerted effort. Later I also managed to re-enter the same dream by focusing my intent as I fell back asleep. While doing so I managed to intentionally feel like I did a backflip as part of the spinning sensation. I’m getting better at controlling it when I’m really close to the edge after a WBTB.

Thanks for the reply, looking forward to hearing back from you. I’m still scouring the forums and reading alot.
