Lately iv’e had a huge gap in my attemps to become lucid. I havn’t been doing any attempts at all except having vivid normal dreams. The biggest of my problems is actually the lack of motivation to write down my dreams. Every time I’m about to sleep im trying to convince myself to write them down upon awekening, but I always find it more comfortable to roll over and fall asleep whenever I awake.
Have you got any suggestions on how to become more motivated in order to remember the dreams better?
I don’t personally consider that a big problem, actually. I kept a dream journal for years without having a single lucid dream. When I finally had a lucid dream, my DJ-upkeep could be described as choppy at best. In fact it was that spontaneous LD that got me keeping a dream journal again.
Keeping a journal diligently, can subconsciously signal that dreams are significant, so I guess that’s why it works for some people-- but, if your dreams are vivid enough that your natural recall would be good enough, I don’t think you need it.
You could wait until you spontaniously have an LD or ND thats inspiring enough for you to record it. It works from time to time.
ah yeh… it’s so disturbing tho
The problem is that this is something you need to do by choice. It’s not like the situations where you have no choice and you are aware that you need to do this or that or so…
So when you make a choice that you will record your dreams, when you make a choice that dreams are important then this won’t be a problem.
It’s not that stupid to record dreams when you wake up and when you’re about to roll over. It means that you are awake a little bit. Use that as a WBTB. It may took only 5 minutes but it will make a difference in your awareness and you might have accidental WILD or on purpose. But if you just roll over then you miss the good chance to actually achieve lucidity!
