Hey guys, so this morning I had my second LD
I was just standing outside a building at my old workplace and it looked a bit odd and I asked myself “why am I here?..because 'm dreaming!!”. Shortly after that the dream faded into a greyness and I awoke.
So what should I have done to keep sleeping (and lding ), I would like to know for next time. So far I’ve been focused on trying to LD and haven’t given much thought into what should be done if I do become lucid.
Well mdjr you have to recognize that it is your second ld, therefore the quick fading to the ld is pretty common. The more you have ld the more you are gonna be experienced about it and prolong them. What you should do next time would be to either don’t get excited or rub your hands together, try to avoid spinning cuz isn’t that effective on everybody and makes you wake up sometimes.
Today i had my 23th ld i guesss and it wasn’t long at all. I also think that it’s not only the more you have but the more you have without being unactively on lds. Although my problem this time was that i had the ld quite close to my sleeping climax; that’s when have had enough sleep and you are starting to get uncomfortable. The dreams that are in that stage are most likely to be short, im not sure about it though.
Rubbing hands is a very effective method. If you do it, concentrate on the feeling and observe your hands. Also, merely observing your hands while rubbing your fingers together might help. It helps because you keep focused on the dream and don’t drift towards wakefulness.
Another things which might help is not to stand still for a long time… for some people this increases the chances of loosing contact with the dream, thus forcing you to wake up. Walk around and pay some attention to the feeling of walking. Feel the textures of the ground, tension/relaxation in your feet muscles. All these methods keep you focused on the dream, thus diminishing the chances of waking up.
I wonder if people have tried meditation as a method of fortifying lucidity. Focussing ones consciousness as much as possible by meditating could work, too.
