When you have a lucid dream, exactly how clear and vivid is it? Does it honestly feel like real life, only in a dream?
And do you really have all your senses like you would in real life? Basically, could i eat, have a conversation, or even have sex and it seem completely real as it may be in Vanilla Sky?
It depends. Most LDs start a little hazy, what helps is to create things that stimulate all five senses, especially touch. Incredibly hot or cold things help with me. With practice, many people have LDs even more vivid than real life.
That’s a really interesting question… I’m gaining motivation to experience this myself. If I had a dream (LD or ND) and it took place at, let’s say, a mall I’ve been to, would it be the same mall? I’m sure in the Dreamworld, things would be at least a little different. How could my mind remember where every single store is? I haven’t even been in every single store in the mall…
Another thing I want to think about is my Dream Body… will be heart still be beating? If I eat Dream Food, will I digest it? If I do Dream Exercise, will it keep my Dream Body healthy? Has a sudden craving for an LD
They do seem just as vivid as real life, I had one a few nights ago where, I was seeing how real it felt, and looked. Its hard to tell the diffrence in dreams, and waking life, but I have allso had LDs in black, and white. Those are anoying. I couldnt get any color in my dreams.
As far as your dream body goes, you only need to eat if you decide you need to eat. Same for your heart beating and excercise. In the mall, you’d recognize the stores that you know and either you or your SC would decide what the other stores were.
Yes, it honestly feels like real life. Your memory of the dream will fade a bit and thus it won’t seem as real after the fact. But try this.
Next time you’re lucid, take a moment to ask yourself how this situation would feel if it were real. Examine the details of everything around you–ask yourself how real it looks and feels. You’ll probably be pretty amazed in the dream, and you’ll remember that feeling of shock and disbelief when you wake up.
