Lethargy (and "nightmare") in a LD

(I hope this post isn’t a duplicate… and not too long)

I had my first and second LD 's recently. I would like to share my experience about what happened.
The first one was a false awakening during which I performed the hands and nose RC 's, and although the sensations were quite right, there were almost no visuals (the light was off)… and the only thing I could think about at that time was to have sex with my girlfriend who was sleeping besides me. Which I did, after which I woke up.

The second one was creepier and more frustrating : I can’t really remember what happened first, except that I was in a room which came from the last dream (non lucid) that I had during the night. It was daytime in the dream, but it started fading very quickly.
Then I tried to spin, but I was (in the dream) in an intense state of lethargy so I was barely able to control my spinning, as if I had smoked a /lot/ of pot. Then I tried to rub my hands, but the only result I got was to have another false awakening. I knew it right away (nose and hand check), and once again the only thing I could think of was to have sex with one of the characters in my last non-lucid dream. So i summoned her, and started kissing her and caressing her.
(during which I still felt in a very deep state of lethargy, as if under anesthetics)
Finally, I remember thinking “this is only a dream, i could do anything, including killing her !”. I didn’t do such a thing, but after a while I realised that she was dying. The feeling was really scary, as in a nightmare, and I woke up feeling exactly as in the dream, but in reality this time.

I have several questions about these two experiences.

-> Has anyone experienced such a state of lethargy inside a LD ? Any idea where that could come from ?
-> Could I possibly think about something other that having sex : ) ?
-> These two dreams were induced by WBTB + MILD. Does the method used to induce LD heavily influence the type of dream, including ‘nightmares’ ?
-> Both times, the hand RC gave exactly the same result : Six fingers on the left hand. Do you always have the same result from this check, or do you get different numbers of fingers ?

Thank you for your patience in reading that long post : )

Hi Michael! Welcome to the forum!

I experience sometimes such a sleepy state. It’s like I can’t move or more precisely, like I don’t want to move; or like I’m stuck to the dream. It’s hard to explain. I think it’s due to a low lucidity level. I shouted once “Lucid! Lucid! Lucid!” and it went suddenly better.

LOL! Some people have the same problem. I believe it’s possible. Just try to increase your lucidity and explore the dream universe.

I don’t think it influences it heavily. But there is some influence though.
WILD’s methods seem to give you a higher lucidity level. With some of them (spinning or falling out of your bed), you are likely to dream you are in your room. It’s often dark.
Performing RC’s in a dream often increase your lucidity level. When your lucidity is high enough, you generally don’t have nightmares. So it may modify the atmosphere and the content of the dream.

It differs according to the dreamer. Some people have a random number of fingers. I never had more or less than 5 fingers but my hands are always very strange.

As they say in Turkey, Hos bulduk ! (glad to be here).

Thanks a lot for the tips. Do you think ordering the light to turn itself on may work ?
Also, I don’t know if this is related, but I will try to sleep less deeply next time I experiment. I have been sleeping 10 to 11 hours every night for the last two weeks :bored: … it is a bit excessive and it might influence my dream state.

It may work. Everything may work in a dream. :content: I’ve created once magical lights on the walls by snaping my fingers in such a situation.
