I’ve been on a quest for a while to master WILD’ing ( Actually only a week or so) but I have a serious problem. I tried the “Image a scenario in first person” and I was asleep before 3 minutes was up. I tried the count your breath method, but it took so much concentration, that I couldn’t fall asleep.Im thinking of the counting stairs method, but I’m not sure that will help. Anyone have a more “solid” WILD method?
Its a mixture.
I’m a logical person. So let’s talk logic…
What would hold two things together better? Tape, or Rope? Or maybe glue? How about nails? If I we’re to prepare, and the situation called for it, I would use all 4. Simply tape it together, wrapped in rope, glued on and nailed.
Q: So what does this have to do with WILD
A: EVERYTHING
WILD is a technique I view as a life long project. Or atleast until you get it mastered. Which in my mind can take some time. 3-5 years. But, combining techniques as we combined methods of holding stuff together, can shorten that time expectancy greatly.
Lucid Dreaming is much more probable if you perform constant daily reality checks; and you repeat a phrase to yourself (MILD), during a morning nap (WBTB), all while picturing your dream scape and counting stairs into it (WILD). Make sense? I would pick your favorite, that calms down the chaos of balancing them all. But, use each one to your advantage. Combining all 4 or 5 can greatly increase your chances. Hope it helps
*Just like holding all the stuff together. Get it?
Ah, thanks. But how can I do MILD and WILD at the same time?
WILD is simply tracking your consciousness as you fall asleep. MILD is the basic repeititon of a phrase used to induce Lucid Dreaming. So while relaxing in bed, follow your breathing pattern while imagining a dream scenario or count steps as your MILD. There are numerous ways to combine them. Remember WILD is apparently best done after a few hours of sleep, in order to jump straight to the REM stage. But who knows honestly, always read things skeptically. This is YOUR subconscious not anyone else’s, remember that.
*Read a little bit on MILD, they are really similar to affirmations. Which have proven themselves helpful in both waking and dreaming life.
**Remember, NEVER give up. Lucidity can take years to master. You just have to keep your “eyes on the prize” so to speak. Even if you take 5 years, thats roughly 1/3 of the other 60-85 years you get back. We’re talking big figures here. We do spend roughly 8/24 hours at work. Roughly a 1/3 of our lifetime. First of all WBTB technique dont to lucid dream is very bad you loose sleep and have MUCH shorter lucid dreams. Use it only when the opportunity is there. Any ways about yoru WILD Issues. You CAN use WILD anytime you want, so use it right before bed. In my experience counting doesn’t work. If anything watch the images in yoru head like TV, just remain aware and awake. It took me about 3-4 weeks to successfully WILD. Which is short considering. The secrets? GOOD SLEEP TRY EVERY NIGHT and… practice. You will get better, you will stay up longer. Keep your mind awake the best thing to do is remain aware of yoru body mind and images. Then learn how your body works before it goes to sleep and you will know what to do to stay awak when your body does somthing. Remain aware and awake.
