I wonder if anyone else has had the feeling that they could get lost in a dream. I’ve had quite a few dreams like this. In one dream i’m on a bus, the bus reaches my stop but I don’t get off. After it passes a couple more stops I get the real feeling that if I don’t get off now I’ll be lost in the dream forever. Chicken that I am, i ring the bell and get off.
Another dream is where I’m walking down a path that seems to go on forever. I keep going because I’m curious then I reach a sign and there’s the feeling again so i don’t go any further.
Another one was I got kidnapped and put in the trunk of a car. Of course I knew i could wake up at any time and the dream would be over but I stayed inthe trunk to see whatt would happen. Then I got the feeling again so I woke up.
Yes ive had this feeling a few times in dreams. Especially one more recent one where i flew in to space in a car. I got butterflies in my stomach got freaked out ide be stuck forever and quickly turned back toward earth.
Maybe that dreams have a deeper message to you from your subconscious!
I don’t know. Just a thought!
I did consider that but it was too open ended. it could mean that I’m afraid to try new things to my detriment, or that I’m astutely cautious and I could find examples in my life to support either view.
Hmm, I guess you should see where the bus takes you. Maybe that will solve recurring dreams about the bus and feeling that you will get lost in dreamland. And who knows, maybe you will find out something new about yourself!
I have a similar recurring dream where the bus from my high school picks me up and drops me off at my junior high school. Then I look for my high school bus at my JUNIOR HIGH, except, of course, my junior high school and high school are nothing alike in layout (I go to one of the biggest high schools in the US).
Often times there are teachers from my high school teaching at my junior high in completely different looking rooms.
I had this dream maybe once every two months but it has stopped happening since I had summer break. But this same type of dream (it varies every time but still has the same “plot”).
I wish I would have a lucid dream, so I could figure out the meaning of the dream.
i would love to get lost in dream land:)
I guess I’m afraid that if I get lost in dreamland I’d be a vegetable in reality. Besides that I’ve had too many experiences where I’m trying to wake up and I can’t. I don’t like that experience for five minutes, imagine if it was forever.
yeah i can see your point, but vegetables got there minds about them dont they? maybe a coma…
Many times when I’m under stress I get lost in what looks to be a normal size house but cut away in front so it looked like a life size doll house. I got to know every inch of that house and pieces of furniture! The problem is, that when I would work my way through the walls, stairs, plumbing, etc. I would come to the attic. I could see the first part of it but it is/was very dark in the back…seeming endlessly. Eventually I worked my way back further and further but never reached the back of it. Too scared. BUT I got to know that house so well that my dreamguide assigned me to guide other people through it but never through the attic. I left people off there. Being a lucid dreamer, I sort of got mad at myself for not going back into that deep attic.
I’ve also seen over and over what seems to be a huge spaceship with green shrubbery in it but huge windows looking out at the stars. I peeked into a few compartments and they weren’t scary but some I never went in to. I saw the same dream only in a model at the County Fair so others have been there too. When I saw it modeled in real life as an exhibit, it knocked the breath out of me!
I’ve also had the lost on a bus dream but…horrors!..I was the driver and I couldn’t remember the route. I had the feeling people were dependent on me to get from point A to point B but I got so lost. How do YOU get out of “lost” dreams other then waking up? I have similar dreams where something was lost to me (stolen) and I keep getting clues and chasing it but never catching up or finding it. What you all do? Do you have enough control to force the thing to come to you? Or to find your way back? I usually have those dreams when I’m under stress so I try not to worry about it…it only creates more bad dreams. I usually tell myself before bed to NOT have those dreams and sooner or later, they stop but it influences me not to LD at all when I do that.

I’ve been in dreams before when I was driving my car through the city, no idea where exactly it is I’m going, but I just keep going. And going. And going. And going, until the streets hardly look recognizable, and the city nearly completely alien. To be honest, it always sort of looks like detroit. But then again, I’ve never been to detroit, I guess you could just say it “felt” like it.
Eventually the dream either shifts into something else entirely, or I wake up for some reason, but I always feel like I’m lost in those dreams.
The funny thing is though, in the dream, I couldn’t care less if I was lost, even if I had absolutely no idea where it was I was going
I’ve had this before, I was with my brother and sister and we were just outside at an overpass and we were just waiting at a stopsign waiting for our parents who fled.
