I have never been able to WILD properly. I’ve pulled off other induction techniques with varying degrees of success, but this is just something that has never worked for me, and I don’t know why. Was hoping somebody might be able to shed some light on it.
A lot of the time when I’m trying to WILD nothing really happens, I mean I’m laying there for 30-40 minutes. Nothing. I’ve done it over an hour with no success. Am I just not relaxed enough?
On the rare occasion that something actually happens when I’m trying to WILD, I get pretty weak HI but then as it keeps developing I get this big pressure in my head and forehead and it just progressively gets worse until I have to give up and go to sleep, because my headache is too painful to keep trying. Really weird, and I have no clue what causes that.
Ideas? Or will I just have to give up trying to WILD, maybe it’s not my thing.
When I first tried wild it took me 3 hours before I got SP. The second time it took 2 hours and the third time 1. It depends how relaxed you are and don’t think to much. It’s not just your body that has to be relaxed it’s your mind too .
About the HI thing you really don’t need HI to get a WILD. It maybe is easier with HI maybe it’s harder with HI, I don’t know since I have tried both with and without HI and I didn’t find it anymore difficult without HI .
You can always try when you get SP to imagine yourself roll out of the bed. It has worked for me number of times and you will actually feel like you are rolling out of the bed. Here it’s time to open you eyes. You should be in the dream world since your real body can’t move since it’s in SP .
Are you concentrating too hard on your HI?
And does your headache stop after you stop looking at HI?
I can think of 2 things that my cause it:
You’re concentrating too hard on your HI. I did it once and I got a headache.
Watch it like when you’re watching clouds. Be relaxed and don’t concentrate on them so much. Just let them float by.
If you have SP at the same time you have HI, you can be imagining it.
This has happened me when I had SP: I heard someone sing YMCA, I heard someone eating and I’ve heard finnish music. I’ve also felt like I was falling and that someone was trying to push me out of the bed.
If none of this answer your problems I’m out of ideas
Not really since I know that I’m just imagining it . Fortunately, scary things doesn’t happen when I try WILD anymore.
From the ages 6-11 I experienced SP quite often. Since I didn’t know what SP was and because my body started shaking and I always heard a deep, evil voice laughing , I assumed it was a ghost. Luckily, it stopped when I turned 12 since I went to sleep faster and I didn’t get SP until a few months ago when I was trying to sleep in the living room since my room was getting renovated. I got afraid at first but them I remembered what I had read here and calmed down.
But WILDing isn’t dangerous, it can’t harm you. But everyone have different opinions about it. Some things it’s scary and some things it’s hard.
And I think it’s a good way for inducing lucid dreams
I think I’m probably trying too hard. I’ll tone it down a bit and give it another shot tonight.
luciddator: Nah that doesn’t sound dumb at all. HI can get pretty freaky depending on the situation, and naturally some people might be apprehensive. Maybe just give it a try and see. If you aren’t comfortable stop doing it.
I am having problems to the other extreme I am too relaxed. I can try the counting thing but I fall asleep. Even while i am counting I continuously lose concentration and so my counting is sorta like this
Does anyone have any tips on keeping my mind awake.
PS. I have experienced SP and weak HI on one occasion. However I heard about the second awakining part so i sat up in my bed did reality checks but of course i was awake. So I think that REM comes quickly to me its just that I can’t make it
I also have trouble staying awake sometimes. I usually caught myself falling asleep so I continue with the counting. Try to drick a little coffee or something before you try WILD. That should help. Just don’t drink too much.
I have stopped counting 1,2,3 and so on cause it keeps me too awake. I usually just lay there until I get SP. Works almost all the time.
But you can try to drink coffee or splash water in your face to keep your mind awake.
I haven’t tried that method yet. I prefer the one were you wait until you get SP and then imagine that you roll out of your bed. It works great for me .
If it doesn’t work I concentrate on the HI instead. It doesn’t work as good as the rolling thing but I’m able to get into the dream world by just looking at the HI too.
And since you’re in SP at the time and actually can’t roll out of the be, so when you imagine it and actually feel like you’re rolling out of your bed, then it’s your dream body. So when you’ve finished rolling open your eyes and you will be in the dream world
SP is more for me like vibrations than tingling. I often hear stuff too when I have SP like people yelling or people singing or somebody walking around in my room.
No, you don’t really try to roll out. And even if you tried you can’t do it since you are in SP. Just imagine it.
There’s many techniques for WILD. You can always try another and see if it works better .
I think I know what you mean Somnio. I’m pretty sure its your eye balls not really knowing what to do and trying to look too far to one side and thats the straining feeling. I get that all the time. I find WILD only works for me once having woken up for a while then going back to bed.
Getting SP then just rolling out of bed is awesome. Such a great feeling. I had it this morning after waking up to go to the bathroom then going back to bed. When I stood up I felt like my eyes were still closed though I could see my surroundings. It took a little bit of effort to open them but when I did everything became more colorful and realistic. I then looked down at my hands and confirmed I was in the dream world as they were all wavering and shaky.
Wow, my SP is nothing compared to that if it even is SP. You know how you foot feels when it falls asleep its sorta like a less painful version of that all over my body
I think you get SP easiest if you lay in a position you find comfortable.
That can be on your stomach, on your back or on your side. I often sleep on my side because that’s most comfortable for me .
Hmm…as far as attaining WILD, when I stumbled upon it, I didn’t actually try to do it. Over the course of a week or two, I was forced due to fatigue to nap during the day, and nearly 90% of every time I napped during the day, I think the pain my body felt kept me from sleeping to heavily, and I was have either extremely vivid or lucid dreams during my nap, and I began to enjoy my naps for that reason. When I first experienced WILD I was actually trying to fall asleep but I wasn’t tired enough for a deep sleep and when I did, it was such a light sleep that it felt like an OOBE because I could still feel my body on my bed even though I was moving around in my dream, and that’s how my first two or three WILD went down, until I researched it and began doing it consciously.
I’ve found that if you go into the techniques expecting too much or too tired/not tired enough, then it reduces success for me for some reason. Just keep trying at different times of day.
wish you luck!
