I’ve recently stumbled upon Lucid Dreaming and i am fascinated that stuff like this is possible. I’ve been looking around the internet and reading about LD for about 3 days. I started keeping a dream journal and it is going very well so far. I have not gotten a LD yet but does anyone have any tips for a beginner?
Welcome Inception (haha don’t need to guess where you got that name from)
Invest in a couple of good books on the subject.
Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge, and Lucid Dreaming :Gateway to the Inner Self by Robert Waggoner. Those are by far the best books out there on the subject, They offer lots of techniques.
Keep visiting this site and read up about everyone’s ideas and tricks to attain lucidity. Find out which one works for you. Most important keep at it, don’t give up to easily!
Haha yea i found out about LD on a message board for Inception and then i ended up here. Thanks for the book suggestions, i’ll have to check those out.
IF you do ANYTHING, keep a dream journal religiously. You may even become lucid just by doing this without performing techniques.
Just to add to Lucid_Sockhat’s post,do RC often,whenever something unusuall happens during daytime.That habit should soon get itself into dreams,you’ll perform an RC and become lucid
Unfortunately it might not happen every time,since somehow you can forget to do it
My advice would be not to worry about it. You’ll have an LD eventually. Just keep a dream journal, pay attention to your dreamsigns, and Reality Check twice a day or so. Hell, use a “totem” if you need to. There’s a word for that in the LD community, but I can’t remember it right now.
A totem?? Please, elaborate…
You might want to look up a WILD guide on the 'net sometime, as it works very well for some people (not me, but it comes very easily to some people).
They used to tell aspiring LDers to keep a unique object in their right pocket at all times. A rock, a quarter, a thimble, etc. If it wasn’t there, you knew you were dreaming. It was a very effective RC.
inception! (I was wondering how long it would take for someone to register that name
)
have you checked out the LD4all guide yet? It has many tips for the new lucid dreamer
@Genkai
they use this too in the movie, but then the object stays with them in the dream, and according to how the object behaves, they determine if it’s a dream or not.
