Hey just been lurking for what felt like a year, and I have a new question. How can I lucid dream every night? It seems like I can’t get lucid dreams unless I don’t try for a while, then I try and get one, but then the next night I can’t. I can do WILD really well, just only after like 4 days or so of not trying to, is it possible to WILD every night? Also I wanted to try out Lucid living, I heard it really helped with LDs, but I didn’t really find much on it. Any answers are loved, thanks .
i LD almost every night and the only way i can is by having the urge to find whats really going on inside of me(long story).as well as basically wanting to (if this makes sense) dream-walk as my friend and i called it. we used it to meet each other in different dreams or our dreams would be mixed together. we would call that dream-merging. what im trying to say is get some kind of need to LD and you could basically do it.
Yeah, that happens to a lot of people. Usually you’ll have one when you least expect it. But if it’s becoming that you try and it doesn’t happen until you stop trying, you may be trying too hard. Some get one a month, some get one a year, etc.
There’s not way to guarantee you’ll get one “every night”, but Lucid Living is an excellent way of increasing your chances. Of course, it’s possible you could get a LD every night with mastery of lucid living.
Having a LD every night is possible, but very hard.
If you master WILD, you can do it whenever, obviously it’s more effective when you do it during a REM cycle. It is definitely possible to WILD every night.
If you can do WILD really well, I suggest trying to stick with that. But you could try using both in tandem, that would be extremely effective, because if you think of it, if your WILD attempt fails, you still have a chance of becoming lucid because of Lucid Living.
I’d personally love to master WILD and/or Lucid Living, but I haven’t been able to successfully induce a LD through a technique, and it’s been about 7 months.
I don’t want to brag, but I do actually have a lucid dream every night. I don’t know why, it’s just natural for me. I’m guessing it’s because I have pretty good recall and do reality checks every few hours. And actually, I did get my first WILD when I least expected it. I was just lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but deciding to do a WILD. I knew that it was totally pointless because you can’t get a WILD unless you interrupt the REM period. But, surprisingly, a dreamscape formed in front of me. Perhaps you just need a break though
Personally, I believe that Lucid Dreaming technique is more effective to get a higher LD rate than WILD.
Even if you master WILD, doing it from wide wake (bed time) is very hard.
I think it’s merely a motivation issue. The longer it’s been that you’ve had a LD, the bigger the motivation, the larger the chance of succeeding in WILD.
What do you mean Lucid Dreaming technigue? Isn’t WILD a Lucid dreaming technique?
Also thanks for input everyone
I can’t go to sleep unless I have something to dream about. For me it’s dream first then fail asleep. It’s 3:45 am and I’m posting because I have nothing to dream about. C’est la vie.
Hello all-
I wanted to share my experience, since I did not know how many people there were like me. I know people speak of remembering dreams & feeling things in dreams, but my dreams are so real its unbeleivable. I know that I am dreaming in my dream state, and I can choose to do whatever I wish. I feel like I am totally experiencing an out of body experience almost every night. I seem to be mid dream when I realize I am dreaming, that is when I can choose to make my own world. It is crazy how much power I have over something like that. For instance, I have attempted flying, and its actually something I have “learned” to do. At first in my dreams it was hard, and I would fall a lot the more I thought about it and the more I fell the closer I would be to waking up. Where now, I have learned that if i dont focus too hard on the actual task at hand, It will come easy and I can continue to dream and fly around in that world that I have made up in my head. I feel scared, and I feel the drop in my stomach every time I do attempt to fly and fall.
The other night, I was dreaming that I was in a roller coaster-type cage that imitated the drop zone somewhat. I was with my roomates and speaking with them and conversing- even though I knew it was a dream. They would converse with me and we would laugh (sometimes what I say in my dream or the responses I get do not quite make sense so it is hard to remember what exactly we said.) When the roller coaster would drop, my stomach would too. I wasn’t as scared as I would be if it was real life because I knew I was dreaming, but the stomach feeling was still there, so every time a new drop came I would anticipate it and know its coming and shrink down and hold my stomach.
I have never met or come across a person that lucid dreams like I do, or as often as I do. I feel like I need to volunteer as a test subject or something! I cannot even wrap my mind around how boundless my imagination can be in these dreams. If I want powers- I have them- though its always a struggle to learn how.
I have tried to explain this to my boyfriend and dad, since they said they have had ’
a lucid dream before. However, their experiences are no where near the intensity of mine. Its a world with no rules and undreamed of capacities. I try to explain these dreams to others, but its almost as they do not believe me, or think I am exaggerating. That is why I have started to research these dreams. I would love to know a contact of a psychologist or doctor or neuroscience that deals with these types of lucid dreams in people. I think that I would be a great test subject for them. If anyone out there knows a contact that I can speak with about this feel free to email me.
Actually l-brooks, you are not alone. I have been having LD every night since I was a child. Often times I have to wonder if I’m awake or asleep. One time when I couldn’t tell I decided to go outside and put my hand in the sunlight. I figured if my hand feels the warmth of the sun then I am awake. Amazingly my hand felt the warmth of the sun and I went another half hour thinking I was awake when I wasn’t. I have many stories of thinking I had woken up and finding out later that I hadn’t. I eventually came to the conclusion that if I had to ask if I was awake I probably wasn’t.
I got the flying thing down a long time ago. I fly about as fast as the speed limit because any faster I can’t see where I’m going and I tend to lose control.
I trained myself that whenever I’m in a dangerous dream I automatically turn into a ‘superman’. I don’t always win battles but now I don’t do any worse than a stalemate.
I remember every dream that I have in detail and when I have a dream that I’ve had before I try make it go the exact same way that it went before.
My favourite dreams are the ones where I find portals to another dimension or instant teleportation spots to another country.
Unfortunately I also occasionally have those crazy experiences of sleep paralysis where I’m trying to wake up but I can’t. I can’t speak open my eyes or move any part of my body. I’ve learned to hold my breath now in those situations. That helps me to wake up.
