anyone ever used this to get lucidity? i’ve heard from a friend that he could actually become aware in his dreams.
Hey batosan welcome to the forum.
I have however absolutely no idea what the heck you are talking about. What is a dreamachine (I think you mean, dream machine)? And what is so special about a friend that became aware in his dreams? We do that all the time (hence a LD - forum, you know!)…
Do you mean the Nova Dreamer?
Perhaps, but this one is called a Dreamachine (minus the space and m). And according to wikipedia you could possibly enter a state of lucid dreaming.
check this out for yourself!

also, there’s an online dreamachine. I haven’t had the patience to try it but here’s how it goes. You put your face up to the monitor so your nose is touching the screen. Close your eyes and think of something (at this point you would want to concentrate on the flashing). And if it goes right, you should see some colors, etc., and maybe even dream. But you gotta do this when you’re tired of course.
Also, I haven’t tried this out for myself because I’ve been lazy.
here’s the url to the online dreamachine:

Never heard of it, but it basically sounds like a version of BWGEN which uses lights instead of sounds (BWGEN would probably be more effective).
the online dreamachine yes,
however there’s the actual dreamachine itself.
I can’t really explain but the wikipedia article does a great job. Here’s another url:
noah.org/science/dreamachine/
this one has a picture of what really looks like.
And also for BWGEN, I just tried it last night, and I had like 3 dreams but haven’t developed my RC skills yet so I couldn’t become lucid.
Heh, that looks nifty .
Would it not be simpler to use a disco or strobe light than go through all the trouble to build that machine? It looks good though.
Anyway it sounds like the hole point is to help you go into a trance state. If it works, than yes that can help you with lucid dreaming.
Yeah, my psychology teacher said he and his friends built one of these from a record player, a lightbulb and a cardboard tube when they were at University. He said it works really well.
Has anyone ever seen one of those Beta Machines at music festivals? Apparently that’s exactly how they work.
