Lucid problems :(

Hey all,

I’ve been having a rough time in a couple areas. First of all is dream recall. I write down all the dreams I remember, I read em before bed, I tell myself I will remember my dreams, etc etc but I never get past remembering part of one dream.

However, despite poor dream recall, I still seem to have a lucid dream around once or twice a week. But, this leads to the second problem.

The dream is super SUPER fragile. The instant I realize I’m dreaming everything becomes fuzzy even though it was just super vivid a moment ago. Rubbing my hands together has minimal effectiveness, I tried to create a “lucid pill” and it failed to even appear (I have tried it in the past and it didn’t work that great either), I tried “commanding” the dream to stabilize and that didn’t do much.

It’s getting really frustrating because I can’t do anything at all. When I find myself lucid the rest of the dream revolves around trying to not wake up, which so far I have a 0% success rate at.

Any suggestions and such would be much appriciated.

Thanks guys!

Well i’ve only had 4 LDs, and i had the same problem in the first one. What worked for me was trying to see my entire body and then taking my clothes off. This sounds crazy (or sexy  but i think there is science behind it. I think it kinda works like spinning in your spot to activate you sense of balance(spinning also worked for me once). I guess you could try both this options. Also after gaining lucidity try to keep your senses awake by using them in your dream, this can help gain more lucidity and i guess vivdness aswell.

Much love

Maybe try singing a single sustained syllable…like the syllable “Ah!” but sing it long and strong in the same pitch…like “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

Worth a shot

lol, you just messin with me to see if I’ll do it?

Part of what will help with the stabalization is simply experience. My first few always fell apart and now they are quite a bit more stable. Also, there are things you can do to revive a dream if you lose it entirely. First off, don’t move at all once you think you are awake. If you don’t, it’s much easier to “chain” back into a dream with a tech called DEILD. Second, when the dream is fading, keep rubbing your hands no matter what. It might feel like your RL hands are moving, but trust me they aren’t. Finally, when you do lose vision entirely, start spinning as well.

Above all, don’t worry too much about waking up. The more you think about it the faster it happens. Just enjoy the dream as it goes :content:

lol…worth a shot

I mean, but…what the hell, yeah?

Heighten your daily awareness, take some time out every now and then, when you do your RC’s, to take in everything around you, above you, under you, what you smell, see, taste, hear and can touch. Do the exact same when you become lucid, (maybe not instantly, just one at a time at first) look around you and take in everything, if its blurry look at the ground or your hands until you feel comfortable to progress. Remember its a skill.

Well, I had a breakthrough with the dream recall.

Changing my mantra from “I will remember my dreams” to “I will wake up after every dream” has improved my recall by a lot. . And oddly enough, I actually feel like I’m waking up feeling better in the morning.

Havent had another lucid to try out any suggestions though. I wonder if part of my problem is that I expect the dream to fall apart as soon as I realize i’m lucid?

Hehe indeed, having that set of mind won’t help. You need to be confident about your dreams, when you feel doubt or fear your mind will react to it. So be cool

My best wishes!
