lucidity through sounds

First I want to say Hi! to the whole community of LD4all!

What do you think about the idea to tell your subconscious (with Neuro programmer, or through a lot of repetitions) that every time it hears a certain sound (should be gentle, because it shouldn’t wake you up at night) it should make a reality check.

Then all you have to do Is to make a soundfilde, which plays this sound every 90 minutes (when you are in REM) and hopefully become lucid.

Has anybody tried something like that and what are your experiences?

And sorry for my poor english

There have been many different attempts at doing this, the key is having the sound play when you’re in the REM period of sleep. People have tried detecting REM sleep by observing the fluttering of the eyes or by monitoring heart rate, possibly other ways… without this your just using a shotgun in the woods… hoping the sound will play when your in REM… Here’s my suggestion for a little experiment…

Take a sound you hear regularly every day and record it, during the day when ever you hear it do a RC (reality check), then go to sleep and set your alarm to wake up in about six hours, get up for an hour, do something like read these forums, then go back to sleep with the sound playing on a 10 minute interval, as your going to sleep if you hear the sound do a RC, with enough practice you’ll be doing it in your sleep :content:

This would give you an ever increasing chance at having an LD, based on my experiences

good idea!! but i think that sound will wake you up and will not made you be a lucid.
