Alright so this is kind of a little story so bare with me on this… My girlfriend Jessica had recently died in a car accident about 6 months ago and her best friend sahar who I’m really good friends with now always has these weird dreams about her. About a week ago she was telling me about a dream she had about Jessica. This was the dream: Jessica and her were having a fone conversation and talking normal and right before the dream ended Jessica told her that she would see her in 5 days. We couldnt figure out why she would say somethin like that randomly in 5 days?..anyways time went by and we eventually forgot about her dream. Exactly 5 days later she had another very realistic dream about Jessica. It bothered her very much when she awoke but she couldnt really remember what the dream was. When she was telling me I suddenly remember that Jessica told her in her last dream that she was going to see her in five days and suddenly we figured out what she meant by that…Now my question is , since we use are memory for the past and we live in the present could your dreams be telling you stuff about your future? And if so should people be messing with their dreams by practicing LD’ing? I don’t believe that but she always tells me that I shouldn’t be trying to LD because your messing with your dreams that could possibly be telling your future
I think that by learning to LD, you are unlocking some of the great potential that the mind has. Our normal dreams are usually random and chaotic. LDing isn’t just about flying and sex and stuff, it can be a tool for personal growth. If your friend could learn to control her dreams, maybe she could see the possible futures of things that would help her present.
If she dreams about her often then it can easily be justa coincidence that she dreamed about her 5 days after, also that coudl have got into her subconsious, especially if you and her were talking about it, trying to figure it out, she likely was thinking, ‘today is five days since that dream’ and then dreamt about her because you dream about things you do and think about.
I dont think i miss out on normal dreams, since I dont often LD anyways. I remember way more dreams now too.
Dreams are a total construct of your own mind anyways, so you cannot mess with the future anyways, so dont worry about it
If I remember correctly, a person has about 5 dreams per night, that’s 1825 per year. Average life expectancy is 77 years, so that’s 140,525 dreams in a lifetime. Some of those dreams are stasticaly bound to actually happen IRL, and when they do happen, that’s when you remember them. In you’r friend’s case it was psycological. In many other cases, preminitions are stastically probable.
I heard that you have about 30 dreams per night
