kind of chaning
basically just go to bed when you are sleepy
and whatever position you are in, talk to yourself with auto-suggestion
not about “I am lucid” because you are going into NREM
more like , program yourself for good things like “I am a happy person and my life is beautiful.”
this will give you fleeting NREM dreams and HH / HI for a long time
eventually you’ll want to roll over, which means you are awake, and haven’t had REM yet
so this is where chaining comes into play
either don’t roll over if you can tolerate it (and you’ll have an OBE soon)
or, open your eyes, roll over, and keep your eyes open and continue auto-suggestion (this boosts alpha waves a lot increasing consciousness)
or, get up and drink a glass of water, this is now your WBTB,
or, get up and sit on your pillow and meditate
this is getting you right to where you are about to enter the first REM, consciously
it might be very very short, and very weird
when I did it i fell into my room and did an RC and a backflip and then REM was over.
but you see the emphasis is that if you refuse to roll over, there is no way you can not be lucid, it should only take one week for anyone to figure out, if not the first night
because every time you roll over, YOU ARE AWAKE, but you are groggy and your mind isn’t capable of auto-suggestion. We have to take the grogginess away, and we are guaranteed lucidity. If you can generate conscious thoughts you will have lucidity, if you cannot remember your mantra or self-hypnosis talk, then you cannot.

Chaining is most superior to all because for chaining all you need to do is realize that you have woken up from a dream, and not move and focus on going back, but this method will produce lucidity in all phases of REM if you are diligent.
