First night with the Rem Dreamer last night.
I remember one dream in which I was being attacked by guys on the rooftops wearing black security armour. I was with a bunch of other guys and returned fire.
I hit this guy through his faceplate and with a spurt of blood, he fell off the building. As he was falling, his finger was still on the trigger of his gun and it was spitting out bright muzzle flashes.I’m pretty sure that the muzzle flashes was my Rem Dreamer alerting me. After I woke up, I was pretty angry that I didn’t recognise it.
I’ll tweak some of my settings as per Reyth’s experiences and see how I go on.
I’m pretty sure that the thing worked but I just have to condition myself to recognise it.
It’s amazing how good your brain is at taking alarms and such and making them seem like dream elements, isn’t it?
If you want the REMdreamer to work for you, you should be ready to at any bright flashing light you see, cause like you said, it can be interpreted in many, often original ways, in the dream. Good luck!
Going along with what tosxy said, do an RC throughout the day if you ever see a bright flashing light. It will help get you used to it for when you are actually dreaming and using the REMdreamer.
I’ve been tweaking the settings. Sometimes the lights have woken me so I’ve adjusted accordingly.
Got 24 triggers in a night which seems about right. Problem is, I can only vaguely remember one or two dreams and they are sketchy at best. I can’t remember ANY cues except for one dream walking past neon signs for Burger King or some such shit.
I used to have LD’s regularly as a kid but lost it as an adult. However, what spurred
me into getting a Rem Dreamer is the 3 recent lucid dreams I have had out of the blue.
I put this down to playing games with 3d glasses on; the pseudo 3d environment is probably closest thing to a dream.
I just need patience I suppose.
You won’t recognize it because the light cue was not specific. I also have this problem with my light cue in the dream it’s not a comercial product but it does get into the dream in the mornings. I think you can change the lights to flashing or duration between each flash if I’m not wrong about the REMDreamer then maybe train yourself to recognize the flashes rather than just light alone. It could aslo be that the light intensity was set abit too high so it did not appear as ‘light’ but blended into the dream story…I noticed that when I use a brightness that isn’t too bright but enough to be aware of an outside light with no origin from within the dream then from there you can train for the flashing.

Thanks IMJ.
I never considered LOWERING the light intensity.
I have it on 7 of 9 (not that Star Trek bird with the big tits. )
I always assumed brighter was better to break into the dream.
I’ll try lowering it down to 1 or 2.
Can I ask you IMJ, do you frequently have success with your light cues?
Can you basically have an LD every night?
I hate to disappoint you but if I say yes I’d be lying. I have been using this cue and made changes as to the automation of the timer and that was only this year that I made the timer resettable from bed while lying down…and only got a chance to test it few times. So far I’ve had great sucess in getting the cue to enter the dream state but the only obstacle is recognition. There are just too many permutations of the light cue in the dream, it can range from light coming from no where like maybe a wall on low setting and if high setting it appears as me working with light bulbs and the bulb suddenly lights or as explosion of a device I built. …but as I recall in my earlier designs of the cue I did remember/know the light that I built when it went off in the dream and that was before I had the flashing circuit BUT what happened was…frustrating…I just waited for the light to stop and then continued what I was doing in the dream. So now I’m trying to expereiment with recognizing the light cue in code like I assign 6 short consecutive flashes of light and then train for that pattern during waking hours…haven’t got a chance to test it yet because of sleeping problems.

Sounds interesting m8. Let us know how you get on.
Yeah I tried again this morning but I set the timer early but forgot to turn down the brightness… …so it shot the dream point blank and I woke up and that was while I was in a bus talking talking to my dead mother.
